A Winter's Tale Lyrics
It's Winter-fall
Red skies are gleaming - oh -
Sea-gulls are flyin' over
Swans are floatin' by
Smoking chimney-tops
Am I dreaming...
Am I dreaming...?
The nights draw in
There's a silky moon up in the sky -...

Just the thoughts of a man close to the end of his life appreciating the simple beauty of this world and life
Craig Lee Kettering -
Freddie wrote this song when he was looking out of his window in his hotel in Montreal. He was pretty close to death when he wrote this song and I think that because he knew he was close to death he was enjoying the simple but beautiful parts of life and that is what this song is describing.

This song seems to me to be about that period between semi-consciousness and death experienced by the terminally ill, when your pain is finally gone and your soul is drifting toward paradise... I (obviously) have never experienced it, only heard of it..and it sounds like the surreal things Freddie describes and sings about in this beautiful song.. <3
