Liar Lyrics

I have sinned dear Father Father I have sinned
Try and help me Father
Won't you let me in? Liar
Nobody believes me Liar
Why don't they leave me alone?
Sire I have stolen stolen many times
Raised my voice in anger
When I know I never...

Nothing to do with sexual abuse. This song was originally written as "Lover" and the original lyrics referenced a passionate but brief, tumultuous affair. The music was intended to place Queen in the same category as Led Zeppelin.

I think just like the majority of the people here. Freddie was molested by a priest and tried to tell probably another priest but they did not want to be exposed so they kept calling him a liar

I agree wholeheartedly! I'm a retired CPS social worker and this is exactly what conclusion I came to, also, Freddie's own quote in "Freddie's Own Words," he mentioned a headmaster who he would do anything for, but said that he didn't want to talk about it. And it's not a far stretch that a young boy was molested by a Catholic priest. I think he led a very lonely and sad life. I really believe he is with the Lord now especially due to reports of those around him in the end, that he was so peaceful and died with a smile on his face. RIP Freddie

In the biography "Lover of Life, singer of songs" Freddies Mother reads a letter from Freddie when he was in boarding school. In this letter Freddie tells of a fight he had with another boy. When he tried to tell the headmaster his side of the story the headmaster wouldn't believe him and cut off his hair as a form of punishment. That is what I believe formed the basis for this song.

He keeps committing a sin,and ask God for forgiveness, but he keeps repeating the same sin,and knows he will do it again.I think Freddie had issues about his homosexuality, and he didn't want to be gay,but he was and so he was trying to accept it.

This song was written by a young man who at the age of 8 was sent across the sea to an all-boys boarding school. His original name for the song was “Lover”. Ask yourself What is the Lie that the song is about? Just like Bohemian Rhapsody, I think this song is intentionally obscure and is actually about having been sexually abused, either by a priest or having told a priest and been called a liar.

I believe this song relates to when Freddie was young he went to a private catholic school in Zanzibar. He was exposed to religion, God,Jesus and confession. He probably knew God, and when he sinned he felt so quilty and wanted forgiveness to feel inside good with God.But you know a lot of religious people and the devil (the Liar)like to condemn you .
Around them everything you do is sin , they shoot you down before you even begin. The devil likes to tell they are sooo bad God will not forgive them. Then after awhile you just say screw it , I really want to live up to your expectations but I can't because everything you do is sin -something like that

A strong queen song. It is about someone who lied till he passed away.
