Maria Lyrics

Tha sun ablaze as Marias foot
Touches the surface of sand
On Northern Land
As human contraband
Some Rico from Jalisco
Passed her name to tha boss
She stuffed ten to a truckbed
She clutches her cross
Here come tha exhaust
And it rips...

this song is about the unfair punishment the system has givin many ppl including this girl who was misfairly treated when she was moving drugs. She's dead but still fighting because of the story that's helping tear away at the dfake mask of the system. I'm not typin the lyricsas evidence so just listen to the song

This interpretation has been marked as poor. view anyway

Song about the struggles of the latina women in los angeles.

The first part about the song is about her immigration to california, and the irony of the fact that she is crossing over the bones and bodies of her ancestors who ca previously belonged to (as well as the native-americans who it previously, previously belonged to).

The sond part of the song has specific references to clothing factories ("and now she got a quota - tha needle and thread crucifixion - sold and shipped across tha new line of mason dixon")

goes with the theme of the album batte of l.A. For mexico to reclaim the land lost in the mexican-american war of 1846.

This is about a young Mexican woman who was murdered in a US sweatshop.
This was inspired by vocalist Zack de la Rocha's time spent in Chiapas, Mexico helping the rebel group Zapatistas. De la Rocha is a Mexican-American.
