Red Hot Chili Peppers: Brendan's Death Song Meaning
Song Released: 2011
Brendan's Death Song Lyrics
will you decide.
i’ll take my words and turn them into sounds,
it will survive.
because a long time ago,
i knew not to deprive.
it’s safe out there and now you’re everywhere,
just like the sky.
and you...

That is not true. Flea was really upset about the death and he writed these lyrics for ,,Los Angeles Times", fans loved it and asked for making a song of it. They accepted and ,,Brendan's death song" came out. Brendan was a really good friend, Red Hot Chili Peppers wouldn't came out if Brendan didn't help. He was hero to Flea and Anthony, that's why this song is imporant to them.

This song has very emotional background for the band. The band was showing up to their first rehearsal for the album and Anthony got a text informing him that Brendan Mullen, a long-time friend and musical promotor/influence to the band, had died. When Anthony had told the rest of the band, they were all silent and just started jamming and the song just came to them like a miracle. Anthony says that the song "has a death march to it" and that "it is more of a celebration than a bummer." The Red Hot Chili Peppers have a positive outlook on his life and that is simply what they portrayed in this song.

Its about their old band manager who passed away just as they started recording the "I'm with you" album.
