   i think that the song means get down with weed
   because in the video they get the trumpet from some sort of dealer and also they are not blowing into the trumpet they are sucking the trumped, during the video they seem really high, so i think that they mean weed when they sayd trumpets

   I think that this song represents the meaning of life, of being human and understading why we are here. When these profound teenage genuis writers say "trumpets" they are obviosuly referring to the classical roots that music is dervied from, such as the spiritual sound of the boom of the trumpet which signifies the sound of the soul. Thankyou.

   Its about tv shows from their childhood (probably.) There's mention of 'neighbours' and the oc- 'I love Summer, no Rachel Bilson.' The whole first verse is quite in keeping with the OC as well. That's my take on it :)

   I think this song is amazing. Two teenage boys doing what they love, and young teens can relate to there music, to be honest i wasnt a fan when i first heared them. But after hearing them after afew times they have certainly grown on me. I have there album, there all over my bedroom walls, 'down with the trumpets' is my ringtone. There lovely lads too. I hope they do well in there career.

    The song is talking about themselves. Its their first song, their showing us who they are. The first impression is the trumpet shows the sign of music, its a classical instrument, which contrasts who they are. But deeper into it it could be seen as a sign of weed. Which isn't wrong,but can be taken differently by different people. They are seen sucking in the air from the trumpet...showing sucking in from a bong? And "lighter and rizla, bacci and filter" everything you need, but they never actually mention the word weed, because it is illegal, or sending the wrong message. They leave the public to decide based on who the public are.

    The song is about music. Trumpets represent the tune and flow of music generally. Any reference to drugs is done jokily and playfully.
