She's angry at god. ''ya'' another name for him. She's saying you'd say you would do this but you didn't ''our world is slowly dying''. She can't waste more time believing in someone who she doesn't think is really there.

Relating to the 5th verse; when seas will cover lands, and men will be no more...
--EVERYONE is talking about God, there is not just one 'god.' look up teh theory of the Nommos.
Funny how an African tribe knows all about this star binary system when they don't have good telescopes etc, in fact (from the images of this tribe who have such an amazing theory) I don't even believe they have telescopes, never mind good ones!

The song is a prayer to God lamenting that the people do not care about societal ills like hunger, homelessness, and poverty as well as environmental problems that could cause the end of humanity. The person doing the praying asks for forgiveness for believing in useless things and not concentrating on important issues to improve the human condition.

She's praying to god, and is disappointed. There is a comparison to god and an abandoning parent, as neither made an appearance, or communicated to her.

"I'm not wasting no more time" -she's not going to worry about god anymore?

"Don't think I could believe you" - I'm not sure if this has to do with her belief in god.

The part about aging could just be about any individual aging or humanity and life as a whole.

I don't completely understand when she changes the pronoun to you (think you can forgive you). It could a refence to religion being man made, and when humans go extinct, god will regret that. "Would" would make more sence, but her saying "will" can imply her belief in god. Of course, we can't be certain and I could be drawing additional meaning to what was meant by the singer. Shes the one who knows what she meant. Still, these lyrics are simple yet genius.

This Song is about that all had to end and that you can not stop any process of huminty. Forgiving for all the bad things happened isn't an option in this song.
