    the obvious one: it can be a about a guy trying to get a girl that is so hurt she shuts everyone out...but Darren puts a few clues in here pointing in a different direction too, and he's the girl in this interpretation.

    there is something that can take away all that pain, something that takes him into "outer-space". Drugs. That's his baby, the one that fly's him to the moon and back, to that the world where he feels he belongs.

    Love is too hard, friends drop you, he can't bear it all, he doesn't have a map for life, but he can have a pleasant dream, he can can go fly to the moon and back with his baby. Due to the empathic nature of the them, my guess is his baby is called MDMA.
