This Song was recorded in 1967. I believe that the lyrics humorously described the "disfunction & disunity " in American Society at that time. Sadly, as the United States of America become increasingly "Dis-United" - it seems almost prophetic in it's description of American politics & Society today. The lyric, "The zoo keeper is very fond of run." Implies "disfunction" in upper management. Is it possible that Paul Simon foresaw the Trump years, as U. S. President?
