Slayer: Mandatory Suicide Meaning
Mandatory Suicide Lyrics
A childs toy sudden death
Sniper blazes you through your knees
Falling down can you feel the heat
Burn!
Ambushed by the spray of lead
Count the bullet holes in your head
Offspring sent out to cry
Living...

#1 top rated interpretation:It is about the G.I.s in the jungle during the Vietnam War. It references many traps the Vietcong set, such as toys made into bombs and the punji pits. The "blood is cheap" part is about the many young men who died during the war.
Also, it's "pain shears to your brain," not "pain sheers to your brain" -
This song is about soldiers performing their duties in combat without hesitation! However much the odds are stacked against them. SUICIDE MISSIONS

I agree with the interpretation given by >Anonymous: Jan 10th 2011, 22:43< however, I would like to add to the interpretation. I think "mandatory suicide" is also in reference to the draft.

The song is about the horrors of war and sending soldiers to their deaths for no reason.
-
It's about soldiers who belong to an infantry unit who know for sure the enemy is about to kill them all and mandatory suicide is the only way to end their sheer terror. The soldiers kill themselves or kill each other because they know the enemy is going to kill them anyway. There is nowhere to retreat to and why prolong the inevitable?Just seconds away from their butchdering they end it themselves.'mandatory suicide...Massacre on the frontline'
