   The heretic anthem is about corey standing his ground of becoming the exact opposite of what people want him to be, to prove a point. The point of not selling out, not following people, not taking orders from people. With lyrics describing man as 555, satan as 666, and god as 777, the theme of hate once again prevails. It is also a large 'fuck you' to the music industry and bands that have sold out. It also states that now, corey is teaching the young of our race (teenagers) which refers to showing them the truth of life. That it's not all pink and happy, that it can be a brutal and scary place at times.

   The Heretic Anthem is about standing you're ground and becoming the opposite of what people want you to be. It's about all those pussy ass bitch mother fuckers that wrote this band off.
   
   It is also about all those ignorant and stupid motherfucker's that judge SLIPKNOT like they know them. It's about the stupid motherfucker's that think SLIPKNOT are Santanists and Devil music, as in the line "If you're 555 then I'm 666". I mean, you can't judge a band because the way it sounds, looks or what they say because you don't know them in the first place.
   
   To the followers... How can you be so completely sure that they're Santanists or whatever? The line "EVERYBODY IS SO COMPLETELY SURE OF WHAT WE ARE" explains it all. To me, it's about people like us standing our ground against all those stupid and ignorant motherfuckers that judge us like they fuckin' know everything and if you're a maggot you're doin' the right thing by staying true to yourself and not listening to that POP and RAP bullshit.

   The whole song is straight up about the Record Labelists not signing their album, because it wasn’t “Radio Friendly.” Nobody wanted to give Slipknot a shot. And it was a really big laugh in the face when their album went platinum to all the businessmen who rejected them.

   In a heretical way you can say that this song is anti-religion by the numbers, but to me is also about the ''Authentic CHRISTian'' that rebels for wanting to hold on to his god given freedom. Where he just about had enough with the phonies of this world to be angered to the point of turning the tables on those money hungry slave drivers. In this time, not to turn the other cheek to them, fighting fire with fire with these ''people of the lie'' that's running a social and political music industry in today's day. With the help of their ''illuminated arched-negators'' trying always to instigate and manipulate THE ARTISTS musical ideas to go their way mainstream, getting to them as bad Negotiators to negotiate negatively like devilish perverts like to do. Which SLIPKNOT doesn't want to give into doing their dirty work for just making more money and obtaining more fame for oneself at the cost of their souls, this by NOT changing and compromising at any price to change their music style and the image SLIPKNOT represents.

    555 is the first 3 digits of every phone number in old movies. The phone numbers were fake. Maybe he's saying everyone is fake and he doesn't give a shit what people think about him.

    Its a "Fuck You" to the music industry. Basically a label told them to make more appealing music for more radio play, but they said fuck that and made this song. The 555/666 thing is not satanic, it is basically saying that they are the opposite of what people want them to be.

    Ok for those of you who don't know 666 is not the number of man. It says in the bible depending on which translation you are reading that 666 is the number of a man. This is from revelation 13:18 " 18 This calls for wisdom. Let the person who has insight calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man.[e
    ] That number is 666". It say number of a man, not man. Meaning the antichrist. Other than that I totaly agree it is an obvious stab at the music industry for labeling them satanic and trying to make them conform to the normal. Among other underlying topics possibly associated with the song. Like slayer they are probably saying if you are going to call us satanists then we will give you a reason to! But they clearly aren't.

    Well in my eyes i see the Number 6 as the number of man because MAN was made on the 6th day of creation and we have a SPIRIT, SOUL, and BODY all made on the 6th day of creation. Hint's the 666. to me it's not a satanic song it's just about being diffent " If you're a 555 I'm a 666"!!!
