Prosthetics Lyrics

Even if you run... I will find you
I decided I want you
Now I know.... I need
If you can't be bought, tougher then I thought
Keep in mind - I am with you
Never left out fate, can't concentrate
Even if you run...

You will be mine!
Ah,...

I think that a girl was stalked. A man wanted her to be his. She was enjoying herself, happy, laughing, careless, then he took her. He held her hostage, doors locked, windows shut, she was watched, and could never. He knows he did wrong, but his instincts told him to do it and they over came him. Its a good song though.

I guess maybe this is just another love song, but with a much darker theme. I guess this person loves his partner, much so to the point of obsession. His wild, untamed side of this person is brought out by his partner, but is fighting against himself, hence saying "Dammit man I knew it was a mistake (You brought it out of me)". Overall, that's my interpretation, and I didn't have to look at the wiki to come up with that one.

What does it matter "what the song means" if you like the son g like the song then you like the song. Don't ruin your own personal visual you get from it by nit picking

My interpretation personally is a man whos dealing with a split personality..in his head he is trapped and tied up by the evil side of himself"ah youll be mine" to me tht line is when the bad half of him is letting the good in him kno jell eventually take over

The Collector is a novel by John Fowles, which I read a few weeks ago. I understand there was a movie made of the book in the 60's, and unless the main character (Frederick "Ferdinand" Clegg) is quite different in this interpretation, then this is poor lyrically. As Clegg wasn't an angry character, and remained quite calm in the abduction of Miranda. Though he did hold all the views Corey mentions (such as "Dammit man I knew it was a mistake") he would never of worded them like that, he was very proper and upright due to a poor childhood.

Oh my god, what the hell are any of you talking about? Does the name of the song give anything away,Prosthetics? He's singing that he wants you and then he says it was a mistake. Sounds like he wanted prosthetics then it was a mistake.

This song is good. It has Argonian sex and references to Ritual of the Mahjarrat which is always good. Also the guy that wrote it admitted he way gay, played runescape, then killed himself.

'Layne Pulse' was right about "the collector movie crap" it is a book that was written in the 60's by John Fowles, absolutely amazing book, I read it. It is about a young guy who watches a girl for 6 years then drugs her with chloraform to kidnap her he loves her and wants her to love him but she won't so he gets angry. Anyway this song is exactly like the book but I don't believe they wrote the song about it, it seems more personal...

I think it sounds like a mental illness talking from the inside. It sounds like the eating disorder talking. Stalking. Taking.

I agree with Spen, except that I have somethings to add. He's psychotic and can't control himself but she accidentally leads him on without trying to- hence "you won't bother me, if you let me bother you." Having been stalked by a psycho once I know how it is. However, even in his insanity he sees that he was wrong and it was a mistake so if she ran he wouldn't be actually blame her completely. It's probably just my personal opinion, but I also believe that songs like this one and many other slipknot songs are written to get these pretty much sadistic feelings out and away from yourself. That way you can tell yourself that there really isn't something wrong with you because most people experience feelings and ideas that society has labeled as psychotic. Therefore, it might be based on a movie but chances are that it isn't.

In Slipknot: Unmasked (Again) by Joey McIver, it says the Prosthetics is based on the narrative in The Collector, in which an obsessive sociopath kidnaps a teenage girl and keep her in his house until she dies of pneumonia.

I think this song is about an obsession of a girl that he cannot have before he kidnaps ehr and keeps her in his house or somewhere which is represented in the lyrics and will only hurt her if she tries to escape, in the demo version of this song she escapes and the man comes after her and accidentally kills her, the next part is him trying to dispose of the corpse and he himself going insane with "what the **** has happened I can't believe I'm doing this" going around in his head before going completely insane which explains the manic laughter at the end of the song
