Vermilion Pt. 2 Lyrics

She seemed dressed in all of me
Stretched across my shame
All the torment and the pain
Leaked through and covered me
I'd do anything to have her to myself
Just to have her for myself

Now I don't know what to do
I don't know what to...

The girl is a vision of what he wants but when he trys to get to know her she pushes him away -- the movement of the limp body in the video is that of a serial killer moving the woman around prior to inflicting death.

I think part one is about the obsession of someone and love but that someone doesn't realise she was loved and committed suicide part two is the guilt and pain knowing she did and that they couldn't show her she was and has sad thoughts wishing it was them but idk a lot of these ideas make sense

I think music/songs can be interpreted into any way that fits our own lives. That's why this song always makes me think of the way I once felt about the tormented love I had for my Herion addiction...

This is a song about a man (probally corey in this case) who has created an out of control obsession with a girl, who, (maybe based on a girl in real life or completely made up) suits his every wants and needs in his fantasy, this is caused from extreme lonelyness and trying to forget about her is extremely hard because the more you try to let go of the more the depressing fact of having nobody hits you, and it hurts. Alot. Corey states that near the end that he wont let this all build up inside of himself, hes beginning to except the reality and moving on. THis happened to me, this song therefore relates to me heavily.
Part 2 of the song is more the letting go of it all and excepting it. Part 1 is about the anger and pain it causes along the way.

I think it means that the person is real but no matter what he does he cant make the relationship work thus the she isn't real i cant make her real

She isnt real, I cant make her real...i think this song is about insanity....in part one he thought he found this woman who was perfect but in part two he discovers that someone so perfect cannot be real and she is just an illusion....or something along those lines

I feel that all songs are open to interpretation by the listener and no interpretation is wrong so long as that is truly how the song makes you feel. That being said I feel this song is about rejecting love in fear of being hurt. I won't let love build up inside of me. I come close to saying it but I choke on the words. Torn into pieces I won't let it happen again. I don't want to be alone but I won't let this feeling of love grow in me ever again. And by saying she isn't real is implying that she is too good to be true and will undoubtedly hurt him.

For my interpretation, you have to watch the video. The girl being on the ground represents being in complete sorrow following losing someone that meant everything to them. The moments that she comes off the ground to me represent trying to get over the pain and get on with life, in addition the movement is nearly lifeless like she may be more or less just going through the motions of life but dead inside but she keeps going back and forth between the ground representing periods of going back to the pain and sorrow of the loss. During the won't let this build up inside of me portion she leaves the ground for an extended period of time representing trying as hard as one can to get over it and move on with life, while in the air during this portion, the wind buffets her representing other things happening, other troubles. Towards the end she becomes very still, eyes go back and very slowly drifts to the ground, all limbs limp, I believe a representation of having committed suicide from the inability to handle the pain any more.

    I guess it goes like:
There's a girl you love and you'd do anything to get her. But then the girl's character is in question. Maybe she is a slut and she is alone. She has lost everything in her life because of her stupid decisions. All her female friends have left her alone, because she is a bitch and boys use her as a sex tool for time-being. Nobody befriends her anymore and whenever she tries to be serious with someone, she gets justifiably dumped.

Now here it gets tricky. The writer knows she is a slut, but in the past, he had asked her out because he loves her. But because he becomes wussy, she uses him for sex and then dumps him. Now she is not in a position to do that, but she is out there to destroy her life. The writer stooped lower several times to get her in his life, but she is stupid.

Maybe she deserves is what the writer ends up thinking, but the girl signifies his defeat in love. He still loves her and would do anything to get her back, but he, in a way, hates her very very much and wishes her dead, maybe raped and murdered.

I believe the psychoanalysis goes like; the girl is stupid, doesn't deserve the writer, left alone by the whole world, but still won't stop bitching him. He wants her so bad, but can't and hence wishes her dead by rapists.

Vermilion 1 and 2 are both off of an unreleased album from 1997 title Crowz. Someone said something about the song coming from something that happened in 2000, = false. I think he's nuts about some chick and he either feels that she can't have her or actually can't have her. And my ex-wife slipknot junkie said that he kills the so-called girl, in the song of course.

My husband and I actually danced our first dance to this song. We realized that this song was about a woman (it could be anything or anyone really) whom he has come to terms with that in which he can never have. This is a song about coming to terms with the reality of unrequited desire and letting go of that desire that causes him so much pain. This song is significant to us because we mutually both agreed that there was never a person out there for us to love, until we met each other. This song celebrates our eternal, mutual love that we've been seeking for so long. That our love is no longer unrequited; that "she's a myth that I have to believe in" is no longer applicable to us because we finally found each other after a lifetime of suffering over this unrequited desire.
