   I don’t see how anyone can’t see this is bluntly about Cobain.
   (I’m abbreviating lyrics, so apologies if that bugs you)
   
   The ‘Picture of a photograph of a wedding…” is Kurt and Courtney’s
   “There’s a hole in your head/Does anybody know how the story really goes” refers to the ongoing did she or did he conspiracy.
   “Sell your soul sign an autograph” is how Kurt basically felt he’d done
   “Spin me up spin me out station to station…” the whole verse refers to Nirvana’s meteoric rise and not finding the satisfaction he thought he’d get “is this what life and love is all about, I think so”

   I think it's mostly about fame and it's telling how it really is from someone as famous as him, versus normal people like us think it is. I mean there are a lot of songs that depict this kind of idea but something that makes this different is when the song starts, and he talks about a wedding. It could also be about his wife and how fame changed his relationship with his wife.

   I think it's about Kurt Cobain. "Sell your soul, and sign an autograph"---Kurt obviously didn't like all the attention and idolatry. And The Stone Temple Pilots were feeling the same way with their huge success. Success is limiting and it backfires more often than otherwise. To escape, our superstars often turn to narcotics. As the lead singer, Scott, did. Money doesn't solve much of anything---especially when you never really wanted the fame and "caviar dreams" in the first place. The television allusion, about the "world is color blind," might be describing how the media kicks you when you're up and kicks you when you're down. Also, the way reporters simplify and distort---and, often, only write about the very bad or the celebratory with nothing much about all the complicated stuff in between.
   "There's a hole in your head, where the birds can't sing along"---Kurt shot himself in the head and, now, all his devotees can't sing along to his brilliant, catchy tunes with those oblique lyrics that are truly fascinating.

   This song was written in reference to the Cobain wedding. Scott has had a long history of longing for Courtney Love (why, I don't know) and her marriage to Mr. Nirvana himself virtually devastated Scott.
   
   Pay close attention to the lyrics next time you hear the song and you be the judge.
   
   Tool and Filter have also made obvious references to the Nirvana frontman.
