This Cocaine Makes Me Feel Like I'm On This Song Lyrics

There's nothing wrong with me
There's something wrong with you
There's something wrong with me
I hope your stepson doesn't eat the fish
When we're crying for our next fix

There's nothing wrong with me
There's something wrong with...

This song is basically about getting high. At the beginning, it says "there's nothing wrong with me," they don't notice they're stoned. "There's something wrong with you," they think everyone else is acting strange. "There's something wrong with me" they notice after the fact.

"I hope your stepson doesn't eat the fish," the word "fish" in this song is a metaphor for cocaine. Then when they go "gonherrea gorgonzola" they're saying even though gonherrea is a horrible STD and gorgonzola is a type of cheese, they just sound similer and are all blending together. Hence the title "This cocaine makes me feel like I'm on this song" they are actually saying this song makes me feel like I'm on this cocaine. At the end when they say "don't eat the fish" they are sending a subliminal message to not do cocaine.

I personally think this song has more to do with actually being high, refrences to "I can't see your souls through your eyes" maybe because thier eyes are glazed over form the drugs.

"kidnapped by the likes of pure conjecture" I'm guessing this is being completely overtaken by acusations made without conclusive evidence possibly another effect of the cocaine.

"theres nothing wrong with me" "theres something wrong with you" furthur effect of cocaine, I'm fine but your not.

when they say "killers never hurt feelings" killers could be methaphoric for the cocaine and though its a killer it never did hurt any feelings.

"single files of clean feedings" surely this has to do with lines -single files- of cocaine -clean feedings-.

"Gonorrhea gorgonzola" this might tie in with fish actually being the refrence of the female 'bits' and Gonorrhea being an std which leaves a green smelling puss and gorgonzola is A pungent, blue-veined cheese.

"I hope your stepson doesn't eat the fish" this could mean while your stoned don't do something bad like partkaing in oral sex with the infected person.

And finally towards the end of the song they start saying "theres something wrong with you and I" possibly the drug is beginning to wear or they have become aware that they are all stoned.

For me there is music just like for all of you it is about drug addiction, mostly cocaine, but in my view (and in the mesmerize and hypnotize production documentaries Daron says that 'cocaine' is about the guy on the radio) makes me believe that this song is about a person who works on the radio but has these outbursts of double personality.

I honestly think that MOST of this song is fairly straightforward to interpret...it's clearly about drug addiction, cocaine addiction more specifically.
It seems a lot of folks have trouble w/ the talk of "fish" -- I'd just like to note that certain high quality cocaine is not uncommonly referred to/described as "fish scale" (due to its sort of pearly appearance & the way it flakes when broken) -- so I have always assumed that "fish" was a direct reference to cocaine.
The main part that seems ambiguous, to me, is the "gonorrhea gorgonzola" lines...I've read some interpretations which figure, because gorgonzola is a cheese w/ blue veins running through it, that it is some sort of reference to human veins, & possibly IV drug use. I could certainly see that being possible -- w/ "gonorrhea gorgonzola" referring to destroying one's veins via IV use of cocaine (cocaine in particular tends to be very rough on one's veins when IV'd), and the following "single files of clean feedings" possibly referring to track marks ("single file" lines on the arms from repetitive needle punctures) from "feeding" the addiction..."clean" possibly referring to clean needles?
^ or, of course, "single files of clean feedings" could just be in reference to, as others have stated, lines of cocaine being used in "feeding" the addiction.
    it is an interesting song.

    "There's nothing wrong with me,
    there's something wrong with you,
    there's something wrong with me"
I think this section refers to denial and acceptance of addiction (to cocaine). Setting in of paranoia is possible but unlikely because cocaine isn't a drug which is known for making users paranoid.

"I hope your stepson doesn't eat the fish,
when we're crying for our next fix"
Here "stepson" refers to an addicted person, and "the fish" refers to the drug heroin (because heroin is known for smelling like fish). This section is suggesting that the addict is considering taking heroin while the next dose of cocaine is unavailable.

    "Killers never hurt feelings"
I don't have a solid opinion on this part, but I think it refers to friends of the addict discouraging him/her from taking heroin, by explaining that eventually - despite the euphoric highs - heroin kills.

    "Gonorhhoea gorgonzola"
Again, no solid opinion, but I think it refers to heroin being horrendous and wonderful at the same time: gonorhhoea a painful STD - is the bad part of heroin (in that the drug is highly addictive and results in the death of many users), while gorgonzola - a delicious Italian cheese - is the good side of the drug (the intense hallucinations). The two sides to heroin are linked by the similarity of the words.

    "Single lines of clean feedings"
This refers to taking cocaine by snorting it in lines. "Clean" could suggest the addict wastes none of the cocaine (the surface that the cocaine was snorted from was clean with none left).

"I can't see your soul through through your eyes"
This references the dead-eyed stare that heroin users are known for while high on the drug.

    "Crying walls of sliding architecture"
This line is referencing visual hallucinations in which reality becomes distorted.

"Kidnapped by the likes of pure conjecture"
Conjecture is theory, or something that is not real or will never happen. So the addict has given their life away (or been kidnapped) to hallucinations experienced in their heroin highs.

"Upholstery-loving men all dwelling in the wells"
People who love sitting on the sofa. They sit in the comfy sofa to take their drugs. Reference to "wells" could mean out out on the street (i.e. somewhere unpleasant, when compared with their soft upholstery). "Wells" also could mean their own mind; dwelling only in their own thoughts or trips, while unaware of the world around them. Another possibility is that "wells" references the addiction to heroin: trapped with their addiction with no easy way out (as heroin is highly addictive).

Well that's all the lines covered. Thanks for checking out my interpretation guys. Love from Olly. Don't eat the fish!

this song is obviously a firsthand view of cocaine. and the random fraces such as ghoneria gonazola are simply random thoughts while high. and theres something wrong with me, no theres something wrong with you and i were crying for our next fix, means the denial of and acceptance of addiction

Okay. This song is about Mexican's smuggling cocaine into America through fish, but somehow it gets lost in mixed in with the regular fish. They eat the fish and they are scared and paranoid claiming "there's nothing wrong with me" "there's something wrong with you". This song is a warning that the tasty little sushi roll could be laced with cocaine, soooooooo.... DON'T EAT THE FISH!

This song is about being high. It mentions walls of sliding architecture, which means that the world is melting. It says gonorrhea Gorgonzola which means everything is jumbled. It says don't eat the fish, which could be don't touch my stuff. I say this because people who are high are also very paranoid.

I agree with the first one more but what I also gotta put in is that SOAD who even said it themselves don't put meaning into their songs they want use to come up with our own meanings which we're doing so the only thing I disagree with is the subliminal message part.

I recently got the idea it maybe about intervention. For drugs, alchohol, whatever, but the victim is in denial, ergo:
"There's nothing wrong with me/there's something wrong with you"

And the victim is saying to the friends/family who hosted the intervention that they're just doing it to be mean:
    "Killers never hurt feelings!
    Killers never hurt feeling!
    Killers never hurt feelings!"
as in the drugs/alchohol/etc. never hurt him, but his hosts of the intervention are just trying to be mean, and forcing their beliefs down his throat:
    "Single files of clean feedings"

Although, the victim subliminally knows that when he's "crying for next fix", they might be right.

Just an idea I got a couple months ago when some of my relatives set up an intervention for my cousin's drinking habits.

"This cocaine makes me feel like I'm on this song" might not need to be switched around. If you think about it, it's like your so high you feel like you are part of the song. I have no evidence to back this so...it could be hella wrong

I think this song is about the bad effect that drugs have on the human body. The line "killers never hurt feelings", means that the drugs kill you but you don't feel that bad effect when your high because when your high you feel relaxed.

the line killers never had feelings possibly means the dealers have no remorse for what happens to the person who buy's the drug from them
