It's simply... a fairytale. Taylor managed to fill the lyrics and the music of this song with the magic and ecstatic feeling of a first encounter. You feel like flying, when you first meet someone who makes you feel alive after a long time - just like the first summer breeze of the year, it takes you by surprise and suddenly you feel good and you can't stop thinking about that person. You blush every time you remember their face or their voice, and you're not in love, but... you feel brand new, happy, somehow. Maybe you'll soon forget that feeling and that person will quickly fade in your mind, but you just know that it makes you feel right. All you can think about is that you'd spend hours talking to them,you're obsessed by the memory of every second you spent with them, and you feel like you should have said more. -

#3 top rated interpretation:I think this song is simply about a girl that met a guy at a party and they had a really amazing connection. When she left the party all she could think about was him. However, they never talked about if they liked each other or if they could be anything in the future, therefore she is afraid that maybe he has a girlfriend or that someone is waiting for him. So she wants to tell him how she feels and how enchanted she felt when she met him and she hopes that he feels the same way and does not forget about her and maybe they can have a chance in the future because he is the only person that has made her feel real again!

This song is about Adam Young(Owl City and FYI, Adam is Owl City it's not a band!) Taylor is singing about September 15, 2009, the day she met Adam in New York. She went to his concert(not a party or award ceremony.) They had been emailing each other for about 3 months so they thought it would be good to see each other. Apparently Adam was really quiet when they met(if your an Adam fan you know that he's shy)because when Taylor got back to her hotel she read one of his emails he just sent her saying "Sorry I was so quiet, I was just wonderstruck meeting you." That's why she used the word in the song.
Then when the album came out, Adam bought it on Itunes and decoded the messages and in her song Enchanted the message was his name. So on Valentines Day he replied to her with a cover of Enchanted(fixing the words so he'd be singing to her) and a love letter calling her a princess and all that cute stuff. Taylor didn't respond to him until her album Red came out( the song I Almost Do is about him, see my interpretation on this same website)
Oh, I guess you want to know how I know all this. Well, first I'm huge fans of them both so duh I want them together and second, I pieced all the story together with the info I already knew and the context clues like where he was performing in 2009(New York) and looking for the clothes t=he wore that night that's in the same pic he took with Taylor.

this song is about owl city's Adam young. taylor met him at...i think an awards show (i'm not too sure) and they started talking together and taylor was enchanted to meet him, meaning as in she loved him deep down inside. i love the chorus so much. i love this song because of the lyrics and the honesty. this is one of taylor's best songs ever written. it's so magical, you know. especially the word "wonderstruck." :)

I feel like Taylor has the ability to write songs that can take anyone back to a certain memory in their life. She wrote this song about Adam Young. It talks about that moment when a crush blossoms; the happiness and the anxiety you feel when you always wonder if the person likes you back. This song specifically takes me right back to the moment when I first saw my first crush. The flushing cheeks the thought process, everything. I love this song so much because it takes me back to these wonderful memories!

Taylor and Adam Young had been sending emails for a long time, and as she states in an interview, Adam used some words like "enchanted" and "wonderstruck", that she'd never heard before. Then they met IRL shortly after, and as the same interview says, "my immediate thought was 'please don't be in love with somebody else'." So Taylor wrote this song especially for Adam, a very sweet gesture that exercises my willpower as I try not to squeal. :3
Adam wrote his own version back that ended with the lyrics:
"I was never in love with someone else
I never had somebody waiting on me
‘Cause you were all of my dreams come true
And I just wish you knew
Taylor I was so in love with you."
That's something that always makes me squeal, no matter what :P And, according to the Speak Now lyric booklet, the hidden message is "ADAM".

Enchanted is like a storyline that we can all relate to. She met a guy who she feels is amazing, and the sparks flew between them instantly. Like all new crushes, she's giddy, excited, and ready to fall for him. She's on cloud nine, and everythings perfect; except for one little problem: she doesn't know if he likes her or someone else. During the song she says that she had a 'sparkling, flawless' night with him, and she was 'enchanted' to meet him', but he's been keep her wondering who he likes 'lingering question kept me up, two AM, who do you love? I wonder till im wide awake" says that this is an issue shes really concerned about. In the end, all she can do is hope that he's 'not in love with someone else' and doesn't have someone 'waiting on him'.

Though they were never really 'together' Taylor remembers in one of his emails, Adam uses the words, "Enchanted, and Wonderstruck" this song is a story of their first meeting and how it effected Taylor -
The clue 'ADAM' speaks volumes at first but there's more. Wonderstruck is one of Adam Young's favourite words. Taylor Swift and Adam Young first met in New York and started emailing each other from then. As Adam is known to have insomnia, he probably sent her an email in the middle of the night, one which made her start to realize her feelings, therefore the line, "2AM, who do you love?". Swift is also an enthusiastic fan, once dancing at Owl City's concert.
