   This is truly about Taylor Swift forgiving Kanye West's insult to her in the 2009 VMA. There are lots of proofs. First, he was 32 when that happened. I don't think it's John Mayer either since she said 'you'll have new Septembers' since that happened on Sept 13, 2009. Thank you Taylor, for this wonderful song.

   It doesn't seem to fit the whole Kanye thing.
   If you look at the 32 line, John Mayer also turned 33 this year, so maybe it's about him.

   I believe this song is about Kanye West, or at least that is is basis.
   
   But it is also a song of new beginnings. That it's who you are when you get where you're going, not the other way around. How when you're younger you're oblivious to the real world, and when you grow up it is a learning process. I really love this song because it seems like she's singing into my heart.
   
   "Time turns flames to embers; You'll have new Septembers; everyone of us has messed up too." This is the most meaningful line in the song for me. It states that with time wounds will heal. Slowly the pain in your heart will ease from your mind. Your life will go on if you let it. Everyone makes mistakes, but it will get better.

   This IS a song about Kanye. The line where it says "32, and still growing up now" makes it obvious because Kanye has just turned 33 in June 2010.

    The song is apparently written for Kanye West after the VMA in 2009. It seems to me like she's trying to come off like she's telling him it's okay and she forgives him, but it almost seems like she's subtly calling him childish and simple.

    I'm pretty sure this isn't about Kanye. It sounds like she's speaking to a loved one who's made a mistake and is hurting. She's trying to tell them that even though they made mistakes in the past, it doesn't mean you're still the same person. You can change and become better, leaving behind your mistakes and looking forward to a better future.
