This song is literally a chronological timeline of a relationship between two people.
"School bell rings" is the start of the first verse at the beginning of the song, and "church bells ring" is the very last verse.
Taylor is describing the evolution of a romantic relationship, from friendship as children, to marriage as adults at the end of the song. It's simple and sweet, but I wish it had better production.
