Female Robbery Lyrics

I think I found hell
I think I found something
I think I found something in my TV screen
I think I found out that I have nothing
That I have nothing in this place for me

I watched it all in my head, perfect sense
They'll take me from me...

This is a very very deep song. The music video version has a French part that’s translate completely opposite to what the speaker is saying. We can infer that she doesn’t want the world to know what she writes about in her diary. She starts to say that she found help, she found the perfect person and way to take her away from her current situation. She also mentions them to be a felon. Her life at home is so miserable and unbearable that her being stole is the only way and perfect and logical way to make the situation better for her. If not, she is seeing her death (which she says in the beginning part in French) - suicide. She somewhat gives these felons the same status as heroes because they seem to completely understand her situation and why she hates her life and why she has to be taken away from her home. The music video shows how she is being abused by her father not know to which extent. Could be physical, psychological, emotional and sexual abuse. Person that has been abused, specially a child, their greatest fear is to tell some one that they are indeed being abused and instead it is better to want your life to end. There is so much guilt and shame that she doesn’t want to tell the police. The female robbery title is the contrast between the male abusive and dominating figure to the nurturing and comforting female. Where she wants to feel safe and protected and loved. At least that’s my interpretation. Nate A.

I’vd read a couple interpretations of the song, and know that it’s a little girl saying that she is in a very bad place at home and wants to be taken away from it. She is taken away; but by bad people. She considers these people her “heros” from taking here away from the bad situation she was in before. She watches shows about police catching criminals and she knows her kiddnapers are felons and she know that the police will find her and the kiddnapers and she is afraid she will end up in the same situation she was in before. But in the end she ends up in a better family feeling loved by this one because the police found her and took her to a better place. But who is the band talking about? I believe it is the lead singers mother. He is retelling her story and how she ended up out of the situation. The lead singer’s father was abusive tward him as you can hear in the song “daddy issues” and the father eventually leaves his family and some how dies. So, we can probably interpret that the songs is the lead singers mother’s story. Thank you for reading!

I think female robbery, based on the lyrics and the music video individually and combined, pictures the internal struggle of a young girl that is being abused by her parents or primary caregivers and the resulting psychological trauma and struggles.
I relate to this song more than anything else because it perfectly depictures my childhood trauma. Since I was a toddler I always dissociated from the present and myself by consuming media which my parents always gladly used to not have to interact with me themselves. I can definitely say that I spend 5-15 times as much time of my childhood in front of my tv then I spend with my parents. But I also dissociated into fantasy worlds of my own. In daytime they usually weren’t exactly nice but definitely pleasurable for me. At night I had no control but I rarely remember much besides the fact that I descended into one of the 9 circles of hell. That’s why I always had the desire to leave run away and leave everything behind as soon as I was awake. Fuck whatever’s keeping you small, do you and don’t stay stuck. But I still always felt I knew that a part of me would always be stuck, would never be free, because I was a prisoner in my own mind. That’s why nobody else could truly hurt me; you cannot break what’s already broken and doomed. Still I would have never spoken bad about my parents, blamed them, I thought it was my fault, I was wrong by default and it wasn’t their fault. Only as an adult I learned that it was indeed their fault, not mine, there was nothing inherently wrong with me and detaching guilt and shame from me to them was right, needed and still didn’t make them inherently bad.

PS that’s what I felt, not how I feel now as an adult. I still sometimes feel like a prisoner of my mind, but I don’t feel hopelessly doomed anymore.

He took drugs and he is begging the tv show character not to tell about it to the police. Dumb fucks take drugs.

This interpretation has been marked as poor. view anyway

I did not watch the music video, so my interpretation was actually a bit different.
I saw it as a love song, a man who was falling in love. The woman was "stealing" her heart, making her a felon and he wanted to keep his love for her under wraps, hence the whole "Don't tell them anything". Anything here refers to overbearing parents, who likely had his life planned out for him.

It’s about someone with a desire to be kidnapped and dominated. He talks about the person already knowing all about him and she’s a female. I.e female robbery..

It's a little girl who got abused and "kidnapped" from her childhood.
