Sweater Weather Lyrics

All I am is a man
I want the world in my hands
I hate the beach
But I stand in California
With my toes in the sand

Use the sleeves of my sweater
Let's have an adventure
Head in the clouds but my gravity's centered
Touch my neck and I'll...

I the ink it’s about a sexual/loving relationship between a guy and a girl. He doesn’t rally want to be in Caldidoenia but he does it because he wants to be with her.

I think the song is about a sexually charged couple that has to face the cold brutal world together

I think it's both about pot and intercourse because it says "inside this place it's warm, outside it starts to pour" and their obusily talking about girls.

This interpretation has been marked as poor. view anyway

I think it's about sex, now come on, it might say "one love" and "coming down" and those are terms used with smoking pot and stuff but how do you explain when he talks about her short-shorts. How does it talk about pot when it says "no shirt, no blouse"; obviously someone's getting naked. When it talks about him putting his hand on her waist, there is no way that can be interpreted into him being high. Again, when the song says "Put my finger on your tongue 'cause you love to taste", I get how it might be referring to pot if he said something other than finger but it doesn't. I'm not perverted at all but sex is the only thing I could think this song means.

This tune is about a guy who lives a uncannily limited lifestyle that emotionally numbs him. He smokes pot and doesn't care much about anything; he simply coasts through this too blindingly sublime state that he doesn't belong to or in. It's not the ideal lifestyle for him. He thought he'd end up like the foreigners around him, and no one can understand the hardships of g stuck in a situation you got himself into, and can't get out of. The pot compensates for the missing feelings he has for his California born blank-slated girlfriend who tries to understand his lifestyle and how he got the way he was. She tries to duplicate his ways by loving him and taking up his true "one love" (pot); in search of the key to her understanding him and finally receiving the love she deserves in return. He cheats, and doesn't want to destroy his girlfriend's innocent love for him. She's that something good he just couldn't let go. Evidently, he tells her his lifestyle, and the way he lives, is just too cold and empty for someone as yellow as she to live in. Especially living it with him, and he begin to hate how California makes the world seem like everything is okay, and he hates how he's in the middle of it all: not being apart of the fun.

I think that sweater weather is about a guy who really likes this girl but the guy lives in a cold, dilapidated little town and the girl is too good for him and his town and the guy is giving her all that he has to offer but he knows that it'll never be good enough. And the girl offers for him to come live near her in California but the guy knows he'll never fit in so they just make their own little world together for the short time that they see each other.

    General Comment:
Here's something a lot of you guys missed. This song is actually full of references to marijuana. "One love" is a phrase used by potheads as a greeting, suggesting that they all have one shared love which is marijuana. Also, "Coming down" is what they call it when your high is ending, because you aren't high anymore, so you came down. It's subtle, but it seems to be an important part of the song.

I also agree with whoever it was that said that "you" and "she" are probably 2 different people, so I think this song is about him cheating on one girl with another, whom he smokes weed with. The girl he's cheating on doesn't know that he smokes weed and doesn't like it, so it's a double confession.
