Void Lyrics

I wonder how I got by this week
I only touched you once
Lately I can't find the beat
I used to feel the rush
Started with a little bit
Now I don't know how to quit
Always feel inadequate
Same way that my daddy did
Mama told me not to...

That the character is a drug addict, his mom warned him to not try but he did so anyway. Then he later regrets his decision and is just like his father. He sings that he is no longer the same and needs it to fill his 'void'.

its about addiction to drugs. “i need you to fill the void” meaning they need drugs to get them through things. “i wonder how i got by this week i only touched you once” showing theyre definitely abusing drugs. “lately i cant find the beat i used to feel the rush” they used to be able to get along fine without the drugs but theyve become dependant on them.

Oh come on . I thought it was about a person he was in love with and couldn’t live away from them . I was disappointed when I saw this song was about drugs..

i think its about jesses addiction to weed. "i only touched it once" means he used weed once but got too addicted so he quit but "he needs it to fill his void".

i think its about jesse (lead singer of the neighbourhood) ‘s addiction
like his mom warned him and now he’s like his father and this is his struggle with his addictions.

It's about the deep beauty in pain, the love in loss and the nostalgia of regret. He's empty floating the eternal plain needing something to hold onto, in my opinion that something is weed or acid, but man this song is beautiful

About a drug addict and his regrets. His mom warned him not to try, but he did it to fill his ‘void’. He is just like his father, and how he always feels like it’s never enough. Even if he tries to quit, he can’t. He doesn’t want to feel empty again.

narcissism. The character is narcissistic searching for the empath to fill his void. Mom plays part in his npd by telling character to not try(what she really means is you'll never be good enough).
