   A fairly self explanatory song. His girlfrind goes out and sleeps with another dude at a party and is fed up of people telling him the details of what happened. "I'm not the one who messed up big time, so spare me the details if you don't mind".
   
   As for dumb donut, I believe it is an insult and a compliment combined. Sweet and tasty but cheap and has a giant hole in the middle (except in this case not literally)

   Yeah i agree with the term dumb donut meaning stupid whore. And when the spare me the details it means that everyone is talking about it and everything that she has done with other guys, everyone knows about it. And it makes dexter sick just thinking about it.

   The term "dumb donut" is refering to the girls vagina. She has a hole, just like a donut, and she's apparently a stupid ditzy slutty hoe who goes around on other guys.
   
   It's basically a slanderous term for his ex.

   This caught my ear, and I began to wonder where this came from, so before hitting the internet, I used my own grey matter and thought... The chararistics of a donut: something you like, it's sweet and tasty, a treat. Another possible meaning valueless (as in "I bet you dollars to donuts"), therefore it seems it's a nick-name for his girlfriend that isn't the most flattering, but none the less sweet and honest.
   
   Now, pop over to OFFSPRING.COM and look at the message forum, heck, I can't be the ONLY person wondering about this! Sure enough, http://www.offspring.com/forums/showthread.php?t=13701 is the thread that asks the question:
   
   "ok, I have a question... In the Offspring song Spare Me the Details, its goes "my girlfriend, my dumb donut"... What in the world does dumb donut mean?"
   
   There's lots of OPINIONS, like: "I think when he called her'a dumb donut' that he was slagging her and that he's basically insulting .....come on a pet name usually doesn't sound like that, involve the word dumb and insult the person...."
   
   and
   
   "u guys its not f***ing hard at all to get. first off "dumb dougnut" was his pet name for her. he was being sarcastic. " my girlfirend my dumbdougnut" which she obviously isn't anymore. its obvious how can the song not make sence he caught her f***ing another guy.....aduh"
   
   But there's no authoritive reply from The Offspring themselves...
