Bigmouth Strikes Again Lyrics

Sweetness, sweetness I was only joking
When I said I'd like to smash every tooth
In your head
Sweetness, sweetness I was only joking
When I said by rights you should be
Bludgeoned in your bed

And now I know how Joan of Arc felt
Now I...

This song is about a warning . If you are a whistle blower shut up with your victorious virtuous BIG MOUTH as the government will KILL YOU SMASH EVERY TOOTH IN YOUR HEAD . Joan of Arc a hero . She heard the truth ! Don't DARE TELL THE TRUTH TO THE MASSES!

I think it is a song about manic depression, mental health, bipolar... There's a element of regret but the Joan of Arc reference shows acceptance and powerlessness, i.e. who cares? It's not important not even to the sufferer.

I think that it's in the first place himself he's referring to. I also like how he feels like joan of arc and by expressing that he's showing his big mouth again. I think that comparisson is way over the top. I like it's irony, showing some kind of apology and then again not. It leaves it open to different interpretations this ambiguity, like the mona lisa. Ow big mouth strikes again i guess.

To me, this song is about self recrimination after having had a nasty fight with a loved one.The singer has surprised his\herself by the cruelty and anger they've expressed and now are trying to make light of it ala "I was only joking when i said....," The reference to Joan of Arc is refering to being burnt at the stake metaphorically, which the singer feels is whats happened as a result of his\her big mouth.
