Icky Thump Lyrics

Yah-hee, icky thump
Who'd-a thunk?
Sittin' drunk
On a wagon to Mexico

Her hair, what a chump
And my head
Got a bump
When I hit it on the radio

Red-head señorita
Lookin' dead
Came to said,
"I need a bed" en español

Kinda obvious...its about americans trying to keep out mexicans (well americans what nothin better to do? why don't you kick yourself out, your an immigrant too) everything suggests that. The last line (went home, and learned how to clean up after myself) he's referring to illegal maids and the line You can't be a pimp and a prostitute too meaning were being pimps by exploiting the illegals (economically in this case) while were immigrants too and we suffered as well coming here..we had to be helped out by the natives...and here we are after betraying and killing those who helped us we call this land OURS?! and keep out immigrants which our ECONOMY DEPENDS ON! you know how much grapes would cost if they paid the people who picked them realistically? the song is about how hypocritical us americans are being..questions/comments? email me at blufire687@hotmail.com

    thank you

I don't quite know if this helps much, but I read in an interview after the song was released, that Jack had ran away from home to search for the place he belonged, and eventually he realized he was originally at home all along.

I think this song reflects on that experience a bit...

    Maybe. =]

Ok, well this website has it all wrong, the lyrics are very wrong. Well, I got that Jack is an american who got drunk and met a mexican lady. He makes her mad, so she gets him all drugged up and drunk and once he is passed out, she steals all of his stuff and, well, Jack learns a lesson and goes back to the states, and learns how to clean up for himself.

    Blufire is almost there

This is a story about an American in Mexico, and therefore the pimp and prostitute comment is referring to in the us he was the pimp but when he is in Mexico he become a prostitute too. The whole learns to clean up after himself is about realizing that you should be able to clean your own house and not have immigrants do it.

This interpretation has been marked as poor. view anyway
