I think this song is about procrastinating. Starting out in a little room and you think you would do better in a bigger room. You go back (mentally) to when you were in the little room actually doing something but you are actually distracted and doing nothing but imagining.

This song tells the basic story of a band starting small (I.E in the "Little Room") and basically getting more talented and popular until they are part of the mainstream (I.E the "Bigger Room"). It then expresses the difficulties of being a popular band (with people judging you and your music). To close the song it offers the advice: "You might have to think of how you got started sittin' in your little room".
