Angry All the Time Lyrics

Well, me and my lady had our first big fight
So I drove around till I saw the neon light
The corner bar, it just seemed right so I pulled up
Not a soul around but the old bar keep
Down at the end lookin' half asleep
But he walked up and...

This song is about the sad end of a marriage. He still loves her, but has to leave because she no longer is in love with him. Her anger and resentment towards him has gotten in the way of their marriage and what even hurts worse is the fact that he can still remember the way she used to be. This song really hits close to home. I'm going through the same situation now and it's really hard.

Had a wife. We had kids. After the birth of the youngest one, she started changing. She became aggressive. Severe depression the doctor said. She was medicated. I thought we were doing better after that. We got married. She started changing again. She became more and more distant and became aggressive again. Up until she was diagnosed with a mental illness. Borderline. I found out she was cheating on me for years... since the beginning of our marriage.
She was the nicest girl when I met her 20 years ago. She's the shadow of herself now. This song fits my life too.

Some of these comments hit so close to home. I guess everyone can interpret it the way they relate to it. To me, it’s depression or other mental illness, as like others have said, I’m living it. When your significant other changes to the point it’s no longer them, and all they feel is anger, but you remember the way they used to be, it’s tragic. Like they’re dead but the shell is still there.

My marriage ended after twenty seven years. I really thought we were doing great but my husband lost his life long dream job and then he lost his mother. He got the nerve to leave when our two beautiful kids moved on with their life. He never explained his wanting to leave, to me, except to say, he couldn’t handle my emotional self any more. Maybe I am crazy, maybe I never let him feel anything. He moved on to a woman he was working with. It really hurts because he said he was never able to talk to me without me crying. Tim McGraw sang my life story.

I spent 30 years trying to make my marriage work. Anything. Go to work, come straight home, overtime (which sacrificed my time with the 4 kids we have when they were young), just for the illusion of happiness. Nothing lasted! Nothing...
Turns out, even in the end, when my body wore out and had to have joints replaced, when my longterm employer dumped me because of liability in there insurance. She also divorced me because I no longer could provide the hi-dollar income. This song was sung for me, the looser, the nyeave clown, that doing the right thing always, would eventually prevail. Not so much. You cant force a horse to drink, only provide the water. I continue on alone now because I never want to re-live what I have lived through, or wose, re-live where I Failed so miserably before. Now your own limits,...

It's obvious to me that this is about a wife, who has an addiction of some sort...probably alcohol. It's made her angry all the time. He's leaving to get their kids away from her. His hope is that their kids can see past the way she is and to Hopefully see her for the way she once was. He sees her 20 years later and she is no longer someone he recognizes. Her eyes have gone black. The addiction has consumed her completely. He loves her that's why it was never the reason he had to go. It was because he couldn't take it anymore and had to get his family out of that situation.

Seriously it’s not about her. Reading these interpretations makes me ill. Obviously it’s him. Stubborn, immature man into himself and can’t see anyone else’s point of view. Good for her he’s leaving so she can finally have a life.

This interpretation has been marked as poor. view anyway

Mental illness has shut the door on a twenty-year relationship of perfect love. We held hands, helped each other through hard times, kissed, laughed, argued, played and enjoyed being with each other. Now she is bitter and angry due to mental illness (doctor diagnosis) and will not believe the doctor enough to take meds and therapy. She believes she is fine and I am wrong, the doctor is wrong, our sons are wrong and the only people who are right are those who agree with her. I am emotionally spent and I feel like life is passing me by. God, I love her with all my heart, that is why I understand the lyrics that say, “The reasons that I can’t stay don’t have a thing to do with being in love” but I have anxiety and depression; this is killing me, but she cannot see that (she is not able). I don’t want anyone else, I just want to live without the tightness in my chest and the relentless choking sensation I feel in my neck. “I got to get away”.

It’s about a wife telling her husband as much as she loves him she can’t stay. They both feel as if the world has left them behind yet he is the only one of the two that shows it and he shows it as anger. He’s angry all the time and she’s leaving.

I agree that she became an alcoholic or dependent on drugs but I think its to deal with the pain of him cheating on her. It has killed her. The light in her eyes ia gone and no one can remember who she used to be. He destroyed her. He doesn’t how to deal with her. She cant forget and it has destroyed her. He doesn’t understand this is why shes angry all the time. He wrecked her dream, their family, her. He doesn’t get it.
