What You Know Lyrics

In a few weeks I will get time
To realise it's right before my eyes
And I can take it if it's what I want to do

I am leaving, this is starting to feel like
It's right before my eyes
And I can taste it, it's my sweet beginning

And I can tell...

I think it might be about a relationship that was never going to work and both people knew it. It seems that one of them (the singer) is breaking up with the other because they are fed up and they know the other is only in the relationship because the don't want to be alone. Also I think the singer feels they finally have a shot at being in a happy and loving relationship rather then the one the song describes.

Evidently the music video refers to a lesbian. In the beginning the girls dance in conformity in squares, straight edges symbolize heterosexuals. Soon a girl departs from "squares" to run out of a door, symbol for the closet, and into girls wearing triangles, homosexuals. The girl cycles through squares with her boyfriend, and into triangles with girls.Later 2 girls appear in a bathtub as the singer haunts her.The video rotates around what appears in front of doors, and whats behind closed ones.

I like to think this is about someone offering to be friends with a lonely person. (Hence the chorus)

I think this is about a boy who has dedicated his whole life and world to his work/music and that has been all he has cared about or known, and he is addressing the fact that he KNOWS that he has this lovely perfect girl who he knows loves him from afar and he has never dedicated the time to her.
He is too busy in his own world, and he isn't really sorry for that "Just remember I know." But now he's achieving success, he's about to leave (on tour perhaps) and he can taste what he's worked for coming to him. "I am leaving, this is starting To feel like it's right before my eyes. And I can taste it, it's my sweet beginning"
He says time is running out hes about to go away, and he realizes what could be, what he could have with her, how busy he has been but he doesn't regret it he knows full well what he's giving up...
and he's telling himself he will relect on this in a while but not now and she knows how things stand. "In a few weeks, I will get time To realize it's right before my eyes. And I can take it, if it's what I want to do" He's deciding. And he has feelings for her, but he chooses his work and he wants her to know he knows she doesn't want to be alone, he knows what she wants. But he reflects, maybe its best because shes too sweet for him and he cant be the man she wants and give her his full heart. His heart is dedicated to his work. "I wouldn't test you I'm not the best you could have attained Why try anything?
I will get there, just remember I know."
I feel a sort of hey I know im giving up love i know what i choose and i choose it and i know and you are lovely but theres no time

My interpertation is "The song was written about touring... the lifestyle that we lead and the people that we left behind, through the fragility of our business that we're in. It's so fickle and you don't know where you're going to be in a few years time, but yet you're giving up so much to be in this position. That is as if i'm not mistaken, the exact words that Alex Trimble said himself.

I can't help but interpret this as a portrayal of my current relationship. Long story short, been dating my girl half the sumester and we have a great relationship, but the one dealbreaker.. I'm going to college and she is going into her senior year, high-school just ended for me yesterday. I'm going to use this song to help elicit my thoughts that we both share the notion that this was going to end. It shares it with me hense the, "I am leaving, its right before my eyes, its my sweet beginning" problem is I care for this girl immensely, and all of her best friends are graduating with me. So obviously I can tell just what she wants.. but I feel like this song can keep a bond with us because it explains it perfectly.. and I can't say its what she knows, but I feel like we've shared this unspoken feeling the whole time.
Not to use cliches but that's how similar I feel they are

I think that this guy is finally realizing hes in love with this chic. And she always loved him, she just never told him this because he was in love with someone else.

"to realize its right before my eyes" always makes me remember the time I was put under in the ER. I was under laughing gas and I couldn't believe it was really happening. Nothing made sense and I couldn't breathe.

This song always makes me want to cry when I hear it, but at the same time it gives me hope. A really shy boy has a crush on me and this makes me think of him.

i think its about a doomed relationship between a couple, where one person knows the real reason he/she got with him/her, is because he/she doesnt want to be alone. he/she knows this but is too scared to admit it.
