Beautiful Day Lyrics

The heart is a bloom
Shoots up through the stony ground
There's no room
No space to rent in this town

You're out of luck
And the reason that you had to care
The traffic is stuck
And you're not moving anywhere

You thought you'd found a...

This is a real song of hope. It expresses our capacity for love, (the heart is a bloom, shoots up through the stony ground), but that there are times when it is too much and we are emotionally full. We can feel trapped and unable to move forwards.

We all have an amazing capacity to make progress, to look for hope and beauty in the world. It is our choice how we interpret, reflect on and focus upon what is around us. Do we choose to look for and build our lives upon the beauty in this world or on the damage which our human race is capable of inflicting.

The reference to the dove is so uplifting. There is an end to the darkness, to this flood of our creation, available to us all. We have all we need to make it a beautiful day. It is a Beautiful Day.

I see "Beautiful Day" as a song about hope. The lines "See the bird with a leaf in her mouth/After the flood all the colors came out" refer to the bird and rainbow mentioned in the Book of Genesis (first book in the Bible) in its narrative regarding the flood. The bird, returning to Noah's Ark with a leaf, signaled that the flood waters had recede, while the rainbow was placed in the sky by God as a promise that He would not cover the Earth with a flood a second time.

The song is about a person that has nothing, but still this person can be happy, she/he doesn't "let the day go away"

It is about the 2 girls I love most in the world and we have lived this for over a year now without knowing at first..One girl is in the "You thought you found a friend to take you out of this place" and the other is in the "Touch me, take me to that other place..." lyrics. One's first words to me were actually "It's a beautiful day"... I met them both at same time, but they did not know and then there were weeks and months i didn't see both or just one, and there is cool stuff like 7 miles between their houses at the time and I live exactly 3 1/2 miles from both, and the friend girl pointed one day in town where there is no place to rent, and I looked at the place on map and exact direction she pointed lined up with the other one I love and it was exactly 7 miles....
One is a best friend and the other is potentially wife...so it's not a jealousy thing...
I am living this song..It's a beautiful day, and I told one of them today.

the "colors" are referring to the Sufi's:"peacock angel". the Algonquin Indians say it is an 800 year cycle they call the "7-fire-prophecy". bono hugs the turnstile door, because the door is who he is in love with. but then he says "even if it doesn't ring true". the door represents "western (""civilized"")(ation)". so he is in love with his big city, New York if you like, or any western city. his use of the word "imagination" is the lie that we are all safe in our luxury of the west. the "place" that he wants to "get out of" is reality, which is found in the distractions of any big city. flight is death or escaping our human bodies to the true reality where there is no more playing games, and loving the lies. this cycle involves colors, fire, and massive worldwide tsunamis. it involves the pulling down of the magnetic shields of both the sun and the earth, temporarily, killing everything in the southern hemisphere, this time around. he being a satanist and me being a Christian, we are both out of "the matrix", because we hate this world, and long for our part in it to be over. if you love the world, then you are in "the matrix". this is the only thing that bono and i have in common. we both do not love the world, or so he is saying. bono and i sometimes fall prey to loving the world, but we quickly know it is all theater, and then realize the truth. if you are in "the matrix" when this thing hits, a deer in the headlights is not even a close description of what will happen to you all. according to katy perry's halftime show big dates to look out for in 2016: mar20, may8, oct28, dec6, dec27. and after all that if you are still in "the matrix" then you will be declaring "peace and safety" and then the headlights come on aug3,2017. the headlights is you all killing each other, the phoenix is also 800-years long.

It is about ascension. Us humans will eventually realize that the bullshit in the world doesn't matter. Don't believe everything you read or watch on the moron box. There is a universe out there and there are probably billions of universes. Good night and good luck.

I think this song is about how finding the right path is just the beginning and that nothing is going to stop you to find someone who you can call a friend

The guy who posted this song on FB 8/29/14 Tom Batten is obsessed with love, he thinks and FB posts about love and anything related to love too often. I know no man or woman who is so obsessed with love like this guy. He is a big problem waiting for some woman to get involved with him.

I beleive that this song is about love, even though we fall short of it somehow, we still choose to pick our heads up and keep moving. and to of course enjoy another Beautiful Day.

This song (and indeed the entire album it comes from) destroy our concepts of linear time, because the song is very clearly a reaction to the horror of 9/11.

And the album came out a year before 9/11.

What started out as a crystal clear "beautiful day" turned into chaos, madness and massive hateful death, but for a few golden hours before the first plane hit, it was a "beautiful day".

My god, how could this song NOT be referring to New York City? And that day?

We crawl through time like insects on the surface of an orange, never realizing that there is a universe beyond that orange, but here is a tantalizing hint that the 'orange' is on a tree in a garden.

Its their tribute to Aha's 'The Sun always shines on TV'. In that respects its about the potential shallowness of that which appears to be aesthetically beautiful. Harmful things can have the appearance of beauty, but we have to be real and not have rose tinted glasses Hope is through the lens of the interpreter, but the challenge for all of us is to interpret things in a way that matters and save the planet. The sun always shines on TV, but TV is not real life.

Bono once said the song was about a man who had lost everything but still found joy in what he had. I suppose it could also be just applied to enjoying life. =
