I interpret this song as a struggle with mental illness. The beginning "was it the best you ever head was it the worst, you'd never know" referring to numbness from emotional exhaustion (choose what this could be caused by). "I'd do anything for you Mrs Highness" refers to the need to make everyone happy and willing to do anything. "na-na-na" seems to feel like slowly spiralling into illness or anxiety, relapsing and getting worse and worse. "The sun is fun the land is dandy I only talk to dogs because they don't understand me." section seems to discuss the need to only talk to animals/creatures which can care for you but will not experience the emotional burden of knowing of someone's illness (I have no clue what 'the sun is fun' part is discussing). "My teeth are yellow, hello world, would you like me better if they were white like yours?" Seems to be talking about some kind form of burden that is noticeable at first glance. {Possibly bulimia as stomach acid would rot your teeth - or drugs} "I need to purge my urges, shame, shame, shame." This is probably referring to self harm. The urges. The shame of doing it.
"I need an alibi to justify, somebody to blame." feeling the need to blame someone/something because of guilt or the inability to accept something is your fault- or no-one's.

#2 top rated interpretation:I feel like a lot of things in Alien Blues kinda goes along with mental illnesses and/or self harm. Especially the second verse. "My teeth are yellow" could indicate an insecurity that the singer has, and "Hello, world!" can mean that the singer thinks everybody is staring at whatever the singer is so insecure about. "I only talk to dogs because they don't understand me" could mean that the singer is talking to imaginary friends (Or maybe even dogs, who knows?) even though it's just in their imagination. "It's a halibut, party bitch, give it a name and say, 'hey,hey'" Can mean that the person thinks that everybody labels people for even just one small insecurity/ trait they have. And then the rest of the song, the 'nah nah nah nah nah nah nah's getting louder can signify a heart rate going up, or maybe negative thoughts getting louder, and scarier. Or the person thinking that everybody's judging them, and they might not want to be at a certain place. And then the "Uh-oh, uh-oh" can mean the person miiiiiiiight feel something like an anxiety attack coming on. But that's just my mind being weird again.

#3 top rated interpretation:I think the part where it says "I need to purge my urges, shame, shame, shame" is when someone feels insecure about something, or they are having some sort of mental breakdown, it makes them feel as if the only thing they can do it self harm. then when it say "I need an alibi, to justify, somebody to blame" it means that they don't want to take it all of themselves, and they wish they could have someone else to blame, or take it out on because of how much they've already taken on themselves.

I believe this entire song is just centred around toxicity and judgement.
Firstly, many of the lyrics definitively lean to a potential ED of bulimia mentioned, ‘my teeth are yellow’ and ´i need to purge my urges’ but another interpretation of this same thing could constitute insecurity. Without doubt, this is a song of a young author reflecting their insecurities to an audience.
The long break between verse/chorus with the ´na na na ´ melody could be denial or sadness, definetly something. Altogether, I believe this is a song with a great portrayal of insecurity and potential relationship troubles that many may experience. -

I maybe think that this song is about being different. "I only talk to dogs because they dont understand me." That may be a way of saying that, people dont understand my feelings and what I say.

The first verse “Was it the best you ever had? Sad is the worst you’ve ever know?” I think it about relationships failing due to crippling lack of self-esteem and self hatred. “I’ll tel you what i think and play it off like it’s a joke.” Is about using either self-depreciation and or using humor to cope with depression. “ Oh no, more surprises, guess it's like this I'd do anything for you, Mrs. Highness.” Has to do with either a savior complex or people pleasing in order to try and feel better even for a second. And the repeating of na-na-na could either be denying your emotions or spiriling and feeling like your going crazy. and oh-oh-oh could be if someone is figuring you out. “The sun is fun! The land is dandy! I only talk to dogs because they don’t understand me” Is trying to be normal and not realizing your the only person who does something in this case talking to dogs because they don’t understand what your saying. That likely stems from not wanting other people to “have to deal” with your problems and the guilt related. “ My teeth are yellow, hello world Would you like me a little better if they were white like yours?” The part about the teeth is likely about losing the motivation to care for yourself/ get out of bed in the morning. Would you like a little better is about felling alienated from your peers due to these issues hence the name alien blues. I need to purge my urges shame shame shame is likely about self harm/suicidal ideation and how there is so much humor about it in media today and how it’s often played off as a sort of dumb things only teens do and don’t understand the true extent of it. “I need an alibi to justify somebody to blame” Is likely about how people feel tempted to blame their problems on one thing/ person usually causing them to lash out at others and become defensive. “ It's a halibut, party bitch, give it a name and say, "Hey, hey"” This line is very heavy and has many different meanings all jam packed real close. first It’s a halibut could be the person feeling overweight because halibuts are a very large species of fish and it’s a party bitch could have to do with substance abuse to numb the pain someone feels. Give it a name and say hey hey could have to do with some sort of bulllying and or dehumanization either by their self or peers

a lot of people think that the lyrics "my teeth are yellow" are about the use of drugs, a health condition, or the trouble of fitting in, but i think its about the little motivation to do things. people often lose motivation to do little things like get up from bed or brush their teeth when they're depressed or burnt out. the "talk to dogs because they dont understand" part could be the way that the artist or people vent/rant about their life because the animals are clueless so they wont yell at you or laugh at you or anything and just sit there afterwards.

I think the, "I'd do anything for you, Mrs. Highness" is supposed to represent people pleasing, "The sun is fun, the land is dandy, i only talk to dogs because they dont understand me" is how they are trying really hard to pretend to be "normal" and pretend to be happy, talking to dogs is like they do not want to burden anyone with their struggles and talks to dogs instead of people. "My teeth are yellow"
Yellow teeth, probably has to do with bulimia and purging, which gets stomach acid on your teeth, rotting them and turning them yellow.

Is probably how they are trying to be "good" in society and live up to all standards.

Also connected to bulimia, purging the urges, purging the food. Shame for eating. Feeling guilt, insane amounts of guilt. -
I personally believe that when it says "My teeth are yellow, Hello world. Would you like me a little better if they were white like yours?" It could possibly be referring to someone with bulimia. This is because a bulimics teeth turn yellow because of the stomach acids that erode their teeth. Maybe their also being judged or made fun of because of the color of their teeth. Hence, The lyric "Would you like me a little better if they were white like yours?"
Also, Maybe when it says "I need to purge my urges, Shame. Shame. Shame. I need an alibi to justify, Somebody to blame." It could be referring to somebody who has a history of self harm, And so their trying to ignore their urges. Then, Perhaps the "Shame. Shame. Shame." bit is like when the person gives in to the urges and has a relapse, And so their ashamed for giving in to the urges. Furthermore, When it says "I need an alibi to justify, Somebody to blame." It could be like after the relapse their not taking account for it, And so their trying to blame somebody else for their actions. Or it could simply be that somebody has noticed that the person who relapsed has more injuries, And so the person (Who had the relapse) is trying to say somebody else hurt them so it doesn't seem like they did it themselves. ("I need an alibi to justify, Somebody to blame."). But that theory seems less likely then the previous one.

I personally believe that when it says "My teeth are yellow, hello world, would you like me a little better if they were white like yours" is referring to the aftermath of bulimia. Like for people who have dealt with bulimia for a sustained period of time, The constant throwing up can erode and discolour your teeth to yellow. This happens because of the stomach acids. And I think the "I need to purge my urges, Shame.Shame.Shame." is referring to someone who has had a history of self harm, And their urges are getting stronger. Maybe the "Shame.Shame.Shame" bit is either how you feel after you relapse or if your ashamed of having the urges in the first place. Finally, I think that the "I need an alibi to justify, Somebody to blame." Relates to someone who doesn't want to take responsibility for their relapse so their trying to blame somebody else for causing it. Or their lying to someone about why they have more injuries, And so their trying to say someone hurt them or something. But I think that's less likely.

In my personal opinion, I think its about being different in ways other people dont understand. I just thought of this because of the line, "My teeth are yellow, hello world! Would you like me a little better if they were white like yours?!". Like being shamed for being different.

Much like the other interpretations of this song, it feels very much like a song a bout insecurity, mental illness and drug abuse of sorts: "Was it the best you ever had? Was it the worst?" is a saying or phrase which could be displaying uncertainty and in context of the song, insecurity- further lyrics such as "I'd do anything for you, Mrs. Highness," seems like the person is addicted to approval in a sense. This may sound wrong, but it for sure feels like the lyrics are making a connection between mental illness' relationship with common drug abuse and 'addiction'.
"I only talk to dogs because they don't understand me" very much sounds like the person is only able to talk and 'vent' in a way to another living creature (a dog) that can feel emotion towards someone, but nonetheless, cannot understand them; the inability to communicate their feelings to another person has to do with the fact that they cannot socially understand their struggle, but more so because in addiction to approval and struggle with insecurity (and obviously in a literal sense of addictions to drugs, etc), they do not want to be shut out by the average ("normal") people who are the societal beings of ultimate judgement. This closely relates to the idea of mental illness portrayal and later in the lines "My teeth are yellow, hello world
Would you like me a little better if they were white like yours? I need to purge my urges, shame, shame, shame”. These lines, once again, describe (possible) drug abuse and with context, assumed that drug abuse stemmed from the person's struggle with mental illness, they are upset in the way that their coping mechanism is not deemed 'okay' but any other strategy is seen in the same light, ultimately causing the person to struggle in getting back to the 'norm' of society if they are not given the chance to. -
I think this song is a representation of the creator's past/current struggle with mental health and possibly drug use. The lyrics:

Might refer to the inability to feel comfortable when talking about your feelings and thoughts.
"My teeth are yellow"
This might be a reference to drug usage and they decaying of your teeth. Your smile is on of the first things people notice about you so it makes sense that the next lines would be-
"Hello, world. Would you like me better if they were white, like yours?"

I think that Alien Blues might be about being Antisocial and mental health struggles, and it may just be me projecting onto the song, but some of these lines I really can't deny, like 'I only talk to dogs because they don't understand me,' describes an uncomfortability in communicating in others, and 'purge my urges, shame shame shame' feels a lot like intrusive thoughts. 'I need an alibi and somebody to blame' could probably interject some sort of themeing to the song, like maybe it's about a murder, and the rest of the album plays along with it, but honestly, I really think it's about instability. The other non-lyrical parts of the song seem like they support this too, in several parts throughout the song the singer in Vundabar starts singing 'na na na na' which kind of feels like spiraling, and towards the end the guitar gets intense and it feels like it's hung by a thread. -Crys
