Weezer: Hash Pipe Meaning
Song Released: 2001
Hash Pipe Lyrics
I’ll go out of my mind.
These players come to get me
’Cause they’d like my behind.
I can’t love my business,
If I can’t get a trick.
Down on Santa Monica,
Where tricks are for kids.
Oh, come on and kick...
-
The meaning of the song should be obvious but since all the other comments were wrong and basically shit*y I will explain the song's meaning.
I can’t help my feelings; [my emotions completely outrun my intellectual capabilities]
I’ll go out of my mind. [Clearly a nod to Weazer heroes Buck Owens and Don Rich who recorded
"I’ll go out of my mind" in 1966]
These players come to get me
’Cause they’d like my behind.
[The singer is obviously a magician who performs in a cabaret adjacent to a casino. The players are gamblers who follow him to see his show. Here's where Weazer's clever wordplay gives us a treat. "Behind" is an old word for "still to come" so the players like the magic show about to begin!]
I can’t love my business,
If I can’t get a trick.
[Self explanatory. You can't do a dam magic show if you dont got tricks..duh.]
Down on Santa Monica,
Where tricks are for kids.
[Weezy leads us to The Illusion Lounge on forth street in Santa Monica and they have tricks for kids of all ages]
Oh, come on and kick
These players come to get me
’Cause they’d like my behind.
I can’t love my business,
If I can’t get a trick.
Down on Santa Monica,
Where tricks are for kids.
Oh, come on and kick... -
I believe the song is about young male prostitutes (it's West Hollywood...Santa Monica Blvd). Most of them smoke crack and there is violence among them. I think the song was supposed to be called "Crack Pipe", but the record label wouldn't allow it. The lyrics, although few in number, speak volumes about the plight of homeless youth who turn to prostitution to survive and crack to cope.

Beating the crap out of a person.
-
It's a song about a transgender hooker.
