Rewrite The Stars Lyrics

[Verse 1: Phillip Carlyle]
You know I want you
It's not a secret I try to hide
I know you want me
So don't keep saying our hands are tied
You claim it's not in the cards
And fate is pulling you miles away
And out of reach from me
But...

Its about two people who are completely in love. He thinks its okay to be together regardless of the situations that surround them but she sees differently. She loves him but has to protect them both from those negative situations that are present if they remain together. I can relate with the song totally. Its more like a forbidden love. He’s trying so hard to convince her that they’re okay to be together. She knows, painfully, that’s not the case. Sigh..

I believe 'rewrite the stars' means to follow your dreams to get to where you want to be in life. Like in these lovers cases they want to fall in love and be happy together :)

On November 17, 2018, The Greatest Showman was released, which features a cover of "Rewrite the Stars" by English singers Zac Efron and Zendaya. It was written by ace song writing duo, Pasek and Paul. They both took a familiar theme, which is “your future is written in the star and give it a very neat little twist”.

This song genre is Pop and produced by Greg Wells. In the film, “Rewrite the Stars” takes place in a circus ring with a superb performance by a couples, involving a large number of ropes and sandbags which I find endlessly fascinating. Also, I find Zendaya has an amazing vocal on cappella as she hit the high note.

Moreover, this song did not only catch my ears but also touched my heart. It is because this song means the circumstance does not always define us when we can rewrite the future by creating our own fate. For instance, even though the heroine does not believe that they meant to be together despite the racial differences, the hero still not willing to accept the fate as he will do whatever it takes to change the fate.

Last but not least, this song personally thought me to never give up on a dream just because of the battles and struggles we going through. Hence, I highly recommend this song to everyone, especially to those who facing some struggles.

A Couple loves each other. But no matter how they try to be together they can’t change their destiny. The last line “we’re bound to break and my hands are tied” shows their relationship must end and there is nothing they can do to continue their love.

I think that Zendaya has amazing vocals on cappella because she sang beautiful and obviously she’s inspiring me as a gymnast she’s my best friend on Facebook she wanted to make this fun song before it released it and Dawson and I are writing this song with Benj Pasek because the song is more like love song to be the best song in the soundtrack of the album before it’s released or something came up with an idea

The song itself is about how they couldn't be together because of racial differences so they wanted the rewrite the stars, or change their fate of being apart. This can be about any inequality though. It hit me a different way. I'm bisexual and my best friend doesn't know her sexuality. We're both girls and we're in love, but her mom, who she mainly lives with, is extremely Christian and probably homophobic, though my friend never asked. I sing Zac's part and imagine Zendaya's part as my friend singing to me and explaining about her mom being homophobic, so we can't be together. The song can be about anything similar to either of these situations. In any of these circumstances, you need to rewrite the stars and push past destiny if you want to be together.

It's a situation whereby two people who are greatly in love with each other confess their love but being together isn't possible because of the racial differences between them. The lady could see fate as an obstacle but the man could see nothing but the possibility of being with her.

I want to do this song with Zac but I want to do acrobats and I took gymnastics with Geoffrey and I can do like gymnastics stuff and then I can still do the rings but my friend Zac wrote it he’s in the musical with Corbin and Ashley, and then I wanted to be real circus at New York. And between that me and Benj are doing writing music writing my own song on it. Me and my boyfriend are doing acrobats because I’m doing gymnastics at Virginia, and so we invited the cast of high school musical and do lots of fun stuff.

I think that the relationship would be desire to be my boyfriend and it describe him as my friend and it has great commentary. But I wrote with my friend Zac Efron he’s in high school musical he did greatest showman, and he wrote rewrite the stars for me, and Nini to do the greatest showman together, then me and Joshua are doing acrobats like Zendaya and Zac, because I like to do gymnastics stuff at christiansburg. And so I wrote it and my friend Zendaya had some couple of clothes for me to try on.

I believe rewrite the stars is an example of forbidden love. They both know they are in love with each other. While Phillip thinks its okay to be with Anne he does not see the consequences and boundaries that Anne sees. Since she is a colored woman in the 19th century racism is a big issue, and since Phillip is a rich white man there are huge "mountains" that they would have to climb. Overall Anne was trying to be a selfless person and protect Phillip and herself from the danger it would be for them to be together.

The song sees Efron's character Phillip, serenading Zendaya's character Anne and trying to convince her that they're meant to be together, despite their differences.

I want to write this song with the showman producers and see if I’m going to be in and so I asked John Paul if he can put me in the movie with my friend Ben then he can become great actors, and we wrote this song and to be in a relationship with other people and also we’ve been talking through this situation and make things better. And to my mom I would like her to be a great, but I’m so proud writing songs on the movies. It’s so fun and I can perform it at the American music awards and then we will start of our summer tour of 2020 and we’re spending nights at the movie locations. Then we can hang out, writing music, and shopping, and even the mall. They have great malls at New York.

This interpretation has been marked as poor. view anyway

Even though both singers are still deeply in love, the woman doesn’t believe they are meant to be together anymore (for reasons that non of them can change). Even though it’s very painful process, the woman can already see the ”mountains” that keeps them apart, however, he’s still not willing to accept this fate and is ready to “rewrite the stars” = do whatever it takes to change this fate.
This song is not easy to understand unless you’ve been through the same situation.

When I wrote this song I’m very patient to write about the relationship when we choose to be but we’re making new high school relationship and so me and Ben are writing this song together. Because me and Ben are producing and writing it with Benj Pasek he’s such a good writer, but me and Ben are so lucky to have benj to write things better and he looks like my dad, but when he wrote it he played my piano and to rehearse the song including that dreams.
