   In this song, I believe Ariana is trying to say she can't keep holding up that perfect image as she appears to the public. After countless parties and keeping her reputation up, she can't muster another smile just for the cameras.
   
   She has to stay tough, as she is always on the spotlight, like every other celebrity, and she's saying that she isn't going to hide the pain anymore or lie about it.
   
   After all the rumors and news, it's getting hard to shock her, as she has probably adapted to be unresponsive and numb to the hate and criticism that she receives.
   
   Ariana wants her fans to know that she's grateful and happy for their support and love, but she's also telling them that she can't hide what she's feeling any longer.

   I think Ariana is trying to say she can't keep pretending that she's okay and that she's happy after what happed to Mac Miller, getting blamed for his death, and calling off the engagement with Pete Davidson.

   I think this was about how she tried to smile but the pain of mac millers death and how people blamed it on Ariana was too much for her. Eg: she says "don't blame me"
