How does this song encourage female empowerment? It only reinforces all of the original female stereotypes of psychological slavery that have existed for centuries, such as:
- Work hard and respect the wealthy despite the current disastrous state of the world with them running the show constantly in favor of their own private interests.
- Use sexually promiscuous and provocative behavior to manipulate and attract what you want. Exploiting sexual weakness in men.
- The myth that we humans can be independent in an obviously interdependent world. Most people who brag about their so-called independence are actually announcing to the rest of the world that they are paranoid, egocentric, and have a problem with communication and trusting others. They have all been hurt, ignored, and taken advantage of, and it has affected them so profoundly that they try to compensate for their fear of weakness by trying to convince themselves that they are strong, independent, and need no one.
- Maintain work, sex and relationships as though it is the meaning of female life, and so all over again every day. This is exactly what women have always been forced to do. It is an extremely narrow and confined definition of what an intelligent woman is capable of. And women think that that is respectable? This is the very thing that women realized was slavery in the past and rallied against.

Female empowerment is ignorant, psychologically unhealthy and makes no logical sense. Male empowerment is often and rightly condemned as being nothing more than a philosophy of chauvinism and the glorification of the alpha male attitude. Why do women want to proudly become the same thing that they hated in men and worked so hard to vanquish? Male and female empowerment are both tragic, and kind of funny at the same time. Men and women will never treat each other as equals with mutual respect while we place such an emphasis on female or male empowerment in society. Change the word "Girl" in Girl Power to the word white or black and it is obvious how closely this attitude resembles the attitude of racial supremacy.
The song would be good if the lyrics were actually based on the reality of what women are truly capable of. Enough of the annoying girl power crap. Powerful and intelligent women don't have to go around trying to convince anyone that they are powerful. Beyonce apparently has to constantly announce to everyone that she is sexy and powerful because either:
A) It sells like crazy amongst young adults with low self-esteem.
B) She doesn't have anything more intelligent to say
C) Everyone will forget about her and stop giving her easy money if she can't keep them interested in her odd behavior. There are millions of girls with amazing voices and attractive figures in the world.
or D) All of the above and then some! -

I think that it is really stupid, because god said if you dney me in front of my father ill deny you in front of my son. This is so realistic i mean you can only change && worship the devil because you want too . How has this song got anything to do with the devil?, nothing in it relates to the devi. People who say Beyonce worships Satin are just ignorant and jealous. I'm a Christian and i can see that this song is not about the devil. It's just talking about girls running the world. Saying we girls can "buy it for them selves and get more money later" which means that we don't depend on men. And saying men will do anything for girls - "you'll do anything for me". And also saying men should respect what Women do - "respect what i do" as we are "smart enough to make these millions, strong enough to bear the children, then get back to business" meaning we can work for our selves and make millions like men can do but we then we also have children at the same time, which men don't have to and then get back to business. It's basically saying we put up with a lot more than men do.
