Sweetheart Like You Lyrics

Well the pressure's down, the boss ain't here
He gone North, for a while
They say that vanity got the best of him
But he sure left here in style
By the way, that's a cute hat
And that smile's so hard to resist
But what's a sweetheart like you...

Time gets away from all of us. Your innocence you only have once. The old can only look back. But Dylan's voice lends itself to the betrayel of oneself.

I think this is about a little pretty girl who was being used by a bar manager, making her pay or serve, dancing or pole dancing but obviously her place was not there, too innocent, pure and vulnerable to be there. A girl in need of love and care who had to make a living alone...
Dylan as an angel approached her to tell her that she deserved better, a better life with a loving husband, not in that dump where no such a good man would find her; she could leave and start anew, work somewhere else, perhaps study, believe and have faith, live among good people but there was even a risk also for giving her heart, however it was better than being in front of smiling fake faces that tried to use her...
the old cleaning lady perhaps embodies that former young girl who called him daddy as a kid and lost her innocence and could not escape; ended up alone, poor in that same miserable place... later in life!!!
