I think that this song is about a crush a guy has for a girl and she was leaving and so he put a note inside a book she was reading telling her he wants her. The part where he says that you'll read it "if your inclined " is probably because she didn't get the message or that he wonders if she did or not. He misses her. I love the harmonies in this song! Great Song! :)
