Working Class Hero Lyrics

As soon as you're born they make you feel small
By giving you no time instead of it all
'Till the pain is so big you feel nothing at all
A working class hero is something to be
A working class hero is something to be

They hurt you at home...

Extremely sad song... It's about all the people who are like, hmm, troublemakers in school I guess? Makes sense, they're never really happy, so they try to be happy, but deep down they're dying, as the song says "Till the pain gets so big you feel nothing at all", that's probably the deepest line in that song, so sad. I was playing that song on my piano and singing along, when I got to that line I couldnt help but cry, because I, like many teenagers, can connect with this song, we may not notice this pain we're feeeling, but its there, and when ya hear this song, ya start to notice whats going on in your life.

It's about the culture we have at the moment, grab everything for yourself, push everyone else out the way. They (government, teachers, whatever) smile at you whilst stabbing you in the back. They make false promises and don't care at all.
the working class heroes are the minority who rebel against this.

Actually, this song is originally by John Lennon. Greenday just covered it. Personally, I think it's something about middle America, about the average person. It's hard to explain. It's only a guess, though.

Idk. The meaning is too deep. I mean, they repeat the same phrase so many times that it has to be important. It's like Shakespeare, the meaning is so deep. I can't interpret it. no one can. At least, no one can interpret it perfectly. except for green day themselves. It has such a good meaning, if only I knew what it was!

This interpretation has been marked as poor. view anyway
