I have heard this song a million times, but only listened the lyrics yesterday. My husband walked out on me a year ago for another women. He lied about having the affair and that he didn't like the person he was anymore and he had changed. I feel like if he had the balls to say how he felt and what went wrong it would be the lyrics to this song

When I hear this song I hear somebody that has regrets because of what his behaviour caused...like drinking and driving for example..get drunk, have an accident an hurt an innocent person for life..

Maybe he found the strenght to stop his addiction and live being resposible and wish he had done it earlier...before he hurt somebody..

I think this song goes a little deeper than just a relationship. I think what he is trying to say is that he knows he messed up but God id his reason to do better. like maybe he wasnt religious and then he found god and the church and now he is trying to ebcome better

She isn't perfect. She gets depressed and mad when she feels excruciating pain. When this happens she thinks she'd be better off alone. She believes that if she didn't love people then she would feel no sadness. She wonders if becoming a permanent recluse might be the answer to all of her trauma. She knows she created pain in her horse's life from the moment she met him, because this is when she began loving him. This hurt her very much, as well. She and her horse had a close & tight bond in actuality. Then he developed Meniere's Disease and had trouble with his balance. She begins to think that he would be better off without her, staggering around the meadows sans her on his back. She wants him to feel happy and free, but she doesn't want him to fall down. She has really rough days where she thinks that all she wants to do is run away with her horse, but then she thinks it is just a fantasy so she wants to shoe him away. She is trying to protect herself from further jacking around by her horse. She gets aggravated when he tells her that he thinks she is bi-polar, simply because of the head games he plays with her. They accuse one another of being lost in a dream fugue. She tries to throw cold water in his face to wake him up because she just wants to TALK to him. She wants to tell him that no matter what happens...

She'll try not to get down in the dumps. She will try to be more perfect for him. She won't tell him to run away and be free. She will work hard on not getting low, depressed and worried about her future life with her horse. He is the only one she wants to spend the rest of her days with... Even when he develops vertigo and falls down.. She wants him to share her bed, even with those abrasive shoes on his feet. She wants to wake up in the morning and feel his hot breath whinnying into her sleepy face. He is the reason she wants to go on living. When she thinks about her life with him... She knows he will make her a more stable woman.

She is sorry that she called her horse names like OrkneyMist & Abdullah and she feels crestfallen that she bullied him. She feels so terrible that she contributed to sending him away to a mental institution. She did it to him because she was concerned about his disequilibrium. Even though she had her reasons, it's still something that she agonizes over every single hour of every single day... pretty much every tiny moment of her waking lucid life. She wishes that she could take her horses pain away, but she can't unless her horse opens up and cries to her. She bought a new shiny bucket at The Schatzlein Saddle Shop, which she hopes to use in order to catch his tears as they fall.

well i think this song is about him asking for forgiveness to that spaecial person he has harm. and he is sayind that he is not a perfect person like he tought he was.

God, Einstein , what are you telling a story? I think it's about a guy who's mistreated his girlfriend, and now that she left him, he's asking her to come back again, as he says 'that's why i need you to hear'. He's realised his mistake, and changed himself for a very big reason-her.

Based on the lyrics and the music video, this song is based on his obsession for money or stealing things and much less to do with love.
In the vid, his gf got knocked down on purpose to act as the diversion to give time for the guy to steal stuff from the shop. Cos in the end the gf wakes from her 'death' and quickly leaves the scene to meet the guy and his friends after they have stolen the things from the shop.
Like the last verse explain the guy's actions clearly
"I found a reason to show, a side of me you did know, the reason for all that i do, and the reason is you."
This here shows 'you' in this context is talking abt money clearly. -
To me it's basically about how you regret hurting someone so much it makes you change, even after its to late to salvage the relationship with that person.

It's about a friendship the singer lost and he's saying that he has changed because of the friendship and wishes he could do better.

This song doesn't have a very specific meaning. It is very general. It is probably about a girl but it might be about someone in his family. But he is saying that he has realized that he has done wrong. And that they mean so much to him that he is willing to change who he is.

I agree with the first guy, because the second one is too obvious...thats what sucks about this sight...the people that post on do the obvious crap that you can notice from listening to...he was referring to the reason they wrote the song or where they got the idea...army commercial
