This is my personal opinion I think the singer is actually talking about herself. Like she's that little voice inside your head as the self harm victim cuts herself. The ending line strawberry hashes all over me has lead to my theory. Love this song.

I believe this song is about self destruction. If i'm vorrect, a gash is a cut (like... cutting yourself).
