Song Released: 1981

This song at first may seem to be just about having fun and stating that we ARE kids. Actually, the song is about growing up. She wonders why life goes on. All around her, people her age are too busy having fun really fast to realize that time is going by. She even tells the boy she's with not to check the time, as if its time to go. She tells him she's not going anywhere, meaning she wants him to appreciate the time they have left while they're young and not rush life. The shift in tone of the song shows that all good things come to an end. Here, she deals with the fact that time is up as she watches the new generation of kids rush their lives away.
