Mark Morton: Cross Off Meaning
Song Released: 2019
Cross Off Lyrics
-
Cross Off Is Easy To Interpret.
Okay, you said your piece Bro. Enough Said!
Past is Past. So stop saying things that will hurt okay.
NO NEED TO KNOW -
Cross Off. Okay you said your piece Bro. Enough Said!
-
The song talks about completely eliminating the past, about crossing off the days gone by. The lyrics explain how bringing up events in the past will only cause more problems in the present. Anger, resentment, and disappointment will always follow ad hominem argumentative strategies. We attack someone else's character because we want to defend ourselves from our responsibility, and we can easily do that by searching through that person's history.
Defensiveness never solves our problems. We need to be open about our own opinions and receptive to others' opinions. Talking about the past in present discussions and conversations are not worthwhile. We need to let go of the past, to actually progress.
