   To me he’s telling her she’s just what he needs and he wants them to work through their problems. He was desperate to get to her and do that to save their relationship. He wanted to just chill and talk it out then have makeup sex

   We’ll I think this interpretation might slightly offend some but just follow things through to the end before making judgement. Let’s dig past the initial things about the song and go to the album. It appears on Red Pill blues. This is a reference to the Manosphere. You can take the red pill which is the truth about relations between a man and woman or live in denial and go with what society tells you to do. Don’t go passing judgement yet. Now this is a further reference to the matrix. Where the main character is given the option of truth or living in the matrix. Now coming back to the song. I really think he’s accepting what women are and aren’t and just enjoying them. No matter if they are the alpha female, the comedian, the one that just doesn’t have her stuff together, or the one that just wants her fun. In all honesty it shows his growth throughout the song to a woman that is family material. He knows he could have pretty much any of them. But he knows what he wants and accepts the different types of women in the world.
   Adam Levine shows his acceptance of the red pill in a way that truely sets himself apart from other men. There are phases to taking the red pill. There’s anger sadness and everything in between. The longer you live in that mode the more you feel like everyone has lied to you in your life. It takes a lot to disconnect from the Disney image of relationships and he seems to have put that energy into a amazing song.

   It means that he likes cheese a lot and that it is his bae. It's nothing about girls, the song is actually closely linked to Ocean Man by Ween. When he says "girls" he actually means cheese. It proves me right especially when he says "Roll that backwood, babe", backwoods is a brand of cheese so he might be suggesting it is his favorite brand of cheese as he also calls it "babe". Therefore I am correct and this is what he actually means by the lyrics, it isn't anything about girls. He is all about the cheese. One of the verses are actually about him expressing his love for Ocean Man, he says he needs Ocean Man in his life. I went to a concert of his and this is how I found out his love for Ocean Man and cheese! He was holding some cheddar cheese while he sang this song and Ocean Man was playing quietly in the background. So, prove me wrong, idiots! :)

   I think the song focuses on the kind of superficial relationship that people live today. It's a couple at the beginning of the typical seduction. But, the man already wants to move to another plan: the sexual act. That's why he tells her to get closer to him. So far everything has been done well. Then, the girl gives in under pressure. And after the consummated physiological need, the male tells her, or thinks that this will be the last time they are together. I mean, he used her and he doesn't like her, it's over. In short, the song deals with the superficiality of human relationships, the objectification of sex. And the male mentality plays an important role here. I would say the song is a message for men. The way to treat women.The male need a girl like "you" without any commitment "free love".
