In the music video, for example, hanging on the dashboard mirror of the car is a picture of a little girl and a little boy, presumably a picture of alexis krauss and derek edward miller when they were younger. Throughout the video, as well as in the lyrics, there are many references that link to the troubles a person faces whilst growing up, including self harming, which is kind of a teenage phenomenon. There is an image of a milkshake in a cup overflowing, this may represent the excesses of a teenager's mind (a milkshake is something that stereotypically only a child drinks). Also, there is an image of blood materializing out of the speaker holes of a phone; this may represent how a lonely, insecure young person may seek false comfort by talking to his/her friend about the new trends ("what about them, i'm all about them","You're all alone friend, pick up the phone then, rill rill, call them up, tell them 'bout the new trends")

I believe that this song is about a once-innocent high school girl who gets into peer pressure by dating an older bad boy who does cocaine. Her friends are trying to knock some sense into her but the drugs and popularity got to her head. I will decode some of the lyrics below.
