I think this song is talking about the first or secound world war and being evacuated to another part of the country, maybe country side. As it says ''underneath my sheets while i cover both my ears, but if i wait for a holiday, would that stop my fears?'' so if the child is evacuated to another part of country would it help, would they not be scared anymore? It also says " vegatarian since the invasion, she Never seen the word bombs " states its a young girl, perhaps in ww1 or ww2 because meat was rationed alot then and hardly any one could get any meat to eat so it sugguests that she had to go vegatarian.
