I lost my custody of my daughter to the state and this song totally makes me think of her and the road I chose (my choices) that caused me to lose her. Why did I go that way? Why did I turn? And then dealing with not seeing her anymore or having her in my life. H I will can I let her go? Why do I feel? Makes me pour tears every time I hear it but I'll listen to it over and over just trying to figure out why at that time in my life. As I struggled with addiction too. Just why??

This song moves me deeply as a I fight through the most difficult time of my life: my divorce from my wife. It clearly is a paraphrase of the elemental questions that plague the victims of any bad split: how did this happen? What part did I play? What would have happened if I hadn't blocked you out? Why didn't the expressions of love show you, convince you and bring you back into my arms to make us both whole again? Was I a fool?
