Breathe Me Lyrics

Help, I have done it again
I have been here many times before
Hurt myself again today
And, the worst part is there's no-one else to blame

Be my friend
Hold me, wrap me up
Unfold me
I am small
I'm needy
Warm me up
And breathe...

I dont think it has to do with cutting

I think its metaphorical when she says .."help I've hurt myself today"..maybe she tends to get obsseded over her thoughts and starts falling into a kinda state (you would probably call "depression")..the part where she says "ouch I've lost myself again"..prob means lost in thoughts..

Sia's boyfriend died a week before she was to meet him in england. This is her descent into depression and self harm which comes from drugs, cutting or both which i have dealt with. You wanna die but you want help at the same time. Im happy to say she is married now and hopefully happy.

its about self harm pretty much. speaking from personal experience its really hard to tell someone that you love that its out of your control, and that you aren't going to stop, but its a lot easier than telling them that you will stop but then you break your promise, and when they find out you can she the worry and disappointment in their eyes. she is saying that she has hurt herself again. she cant blame anybody else except herself, and it hurts to know that hurting yourself is the one thing that makes you the happiest. but she wants someone to comfort her, and love her for who she is, and tell her that they love her whether she does that or not. and that's part of getting better, at least for me it was, and you feel excepted when someone loves you for you, and that's exactly what she needs

I am as insubstantial as air. Breathe me in, embody me before I disperse.

Help I have done it again (eating disorder either throwing up or starving yourself and lying about eating)
I have been here many times before (you have been like before and it’s coming back)
Too me it’s about a girl with eating problems. Self harm could be it too, but the help I have done it again could relate to cutting or binge then purge.

This song is about her falling into depression and her struggle throughout it. “And the worst part is there’s no one else to blame”, this is a reference to her explaining that it’s no ones fault that she feels this way. We see that she starts to blame herself for the way she feels and wants someone to love her and help her

i think this means she is hurt and self-harming. She is severely depressed and wants someone to wrap her up and save her from her depression. She is making a decision to let her depression overcome her or ask for help.

It's about a drug addiction. "Warm me up and breathe me" is the key reference.

I think this is about A girl who is having tough times with deppresion. Like she lost a love one or someone close. When she says "be my friend" shes calling for her loved one or god to come and take her away. Because shes tired of harming herself and tired of her mistakes. And when it says "wrap me up" it means take all the pain away...

I agree with "be my friend" being an eating disorder or maybe even a tool to harm your self with. "I have been here many times before" as the dark pit of depression and the endless hours in your room. This song is about self harm to me and it really relates to me when I'm having a rough time.

This song can really make you think. I think its about suicide because if you listen to it closely "Ouch i have done it again" There's no one else to blame?" I would say the same things.

I feel the pain she's going through she's talking about self harm in my opinion "help I have some it again" meaning she's cut herself again. She just wants someone to be their and how she feels empty and numb and I understand her I suffer from self harm and severe anxiety also starving my self to be skinny! She wants someone to just wrap her up maybe from her self harm scars? Or just wants to be wrapped up in a blanket and feel human interaction probably due to neglect and also blocking the world out! She just wants a friend to be there and comfort her! I get somedays you just wanna cut a little deeper and just end it but someone loves you! And your no alone!

The part "be my friend" is about anorexia. She wants Ana to be her friend. "I am small" means that she is being bullied. The bully makes her feel small. "I am needy" means that she needs pills/drugs. "Breath me" she wants people to walk in her shoes. "I have done it again" means that she cut her self again "I have been here many times before" means that she was in the clinic becaus of the cutting.

Sia wrote this song and is very much alive!

She is known to have bipolar affective disorder, struggling with both depression and substance abuse over the course of her life.

I always interpreted this in the context of deliberate self harm, and believe that it was written well before her heavy drug use days following on from the success of this song...

this is about a person who shoots up drugs(heroin) and the "wrap me up" is the arm being wrapped up to find her veins, then "unfold me" is after injecting herself they unfold the arm tie, the "i am small" is the tiny hole the needle makes, which represented by the "I AM NEEDY" lyrics needy= needle, and warm me up and breathe me is the other form of the drug you can also free base as she breathes it "OUCH" is the actual act of the needle coming into contact with the skin. And "be my friend", is what the drug becomes to that person and is the only friend that person has while going through the destructive lifestyle. the drug makes her pain go away...for now
