   So, I wanna go through each line roughly to show what i think this song means.
   
   I actually think this could be about best friends or ex best friends.
   From the very first day, they have got on like they've known each other all their lives, and it's completely natural. They are always together, because that's where they belong.
   But....they fight. Like all girls do. And it's over the simplest, most stupid thing, and suddenly they just don't understand each other anymore, and find they can't talk.
   Even though they have a crowd of other friends each, it's like just because they aren't talking it is the end of the world, and it's the hardest thing. And now it's starting to look as though their friendship has been shattered to pieces, and it's doomed.
   You know when you're in a fight, and you either ignore that person or you pretend to be doing something too important to even acknowledge them? that's verse 2. You're too proud to be the first to apologize. You don't want the friendship to end, but you don't want to show that this fight is affecting you. You miss your best friend like crazy, but it's not like you can actually say when you are supposed to be hating each other. And silence is often worse than the accusations that are thrown about, because silence is cold and uncaring, and at least the mean stuff shows that the other person is feeling something for you, even if it is hate.
   When you aren't speaking, you're trying to show that you could not care less about them, because you already do. But really you love them more and more remembering how you used to be.
   This other person has the upper hand, they know your weaknesses and how to hurt you, but you just want to stop in the hopes that they stop too and things go back to perfect.
   You wish that other person would just understand where you are coming from;you have so much to tell them that they've missed in their short absence from your life. But pretty soon, you won't be in each other's lives any more and maybe it doesn't even matter, because you're going down anyway.

   (Or,you know, it's the whole boyfriend/girlfriend thing........)
