[2x]
Can you tell from the look in our eyes?
(we're going nowhere)
We live our lives like we're ready to die
(we're going nowhere)

I thought I buried you and covered the tracks
You'll have to take this with your cold dead hands
...

Its all about depression and anxiety, something most people have on some level, and the lyrics speak to the audience in the chorus (u n me) and then speak to himself at other times, more soecifically, his depressed self since depression changes your thoughts deelings and attitude and can almost be thought of as a 2nd side of yourself.

As stated in other songs like Happy Song, depression keeps coming back, its like youre running ib circles, trying to get rid of depression is like chasing the horizon. And in this song, he thought he got over depression, and buried that side of himself (as in a respectdul parting & laying to rest of the dead, metaphorically) and i would guess the tracks are all the depressive behaviors. But, risen from the dead, you cant kill a part of you thats already dead inside. Its sepiternal, depression will always come back, every now and then we get this feeling, and a big void inside us opens up. This is sepiternal, like a carousel, running around in circles. Will we ever see the end? We're going nowhere.

    This is all about religion.

This is all about being tired of dealing with the world. Wanting to see the "God" everyone is calling, that everyone's waiting for. Wanting it to come all to an end. Wanting to know if that God is real.

He's owned by the illuminati...there's no escape. Most of the illuminati pawns have multiple personalities and fight to figure this all out. I think a lot of the lyrics in many of the songs are asking for help or a way out and trying to warn others. Just my take.

This song is about having another identity. Like you have 2 sides of you, one that you hide and one that you show. This song is about the other side surfacing, but it's not necessarily good.

i believe its more about something youve ran from pr denied for so long that you finaly stood up to or accepted. like a bully or a drug addiction. "can you tell from the look in our eyes, we're goin nowhhere" saying either standing up to the bully and not running or saying u realize that youve tried to escape your addiction but its got control of you. " i slipped through the cracks and you caved in my ceiling" is representing that youve ran but it kept following. just my thoughts.

Ya I'd agree with everyone else , the person/problem he's trying to escape is left open to interpretation ... but its probably depression or some form of mental anguish he feels he cannot be freed from ... 'You can run but you'll never escape, over and over' . He feels helpless against his demons because everytime he buries them they simply rise from the dead ... 'I thought I buried you' . Whatever issue is being dealt with in the song its open for the listener to adapt their own situation to it . For example, If you are depressed, this song will be about depression.

I think this song is simply about depression and falling for it again.

Once again, here's another song about this mysterious character that shared a rather "cold-romance" with Oli. Unlike many songs about convincing people to let go of her, "Shadow Moses" contains abstract impressions of anguish and resentment. "I thought I buried you, and covered the tracks" states the metaphorical terms of forgetting or letting her go. Oli claims "she has cold-dead hands", "she clamped to his shirt when slipping through the cracks" and that method or place he buried her was where "sin could never die", or the pain she gave him was unforgivable. He further exclaims that he doesn't "want to rise from the dead", he doesn't want to deal with her ever again; it seems there is no peace in his life with her; it's just sempiternal.

    [2x]
Can you tell from the look in our eyes?
    (we're going nowhere)
We live our lives like we're ready to die
    (we're going nowhere)

I thought I buried you and covered the tracks
You'll have to take this with your cold dead hands
    I thought I buried you
    What's dead can never die

I thought I'd cut you loose, severed the feeling
I slipped through the cracks and you caved in my ceiling
    I thought I buried you
    What's dead can never die

    (Fuck!)

Can you tell from the look in our eyes?
    (we're going nowhere)
We live our lives and we're ready to die
    (we're going nowhere)
You can run but you'll never escape
    (over and over again)
Will we ever see the end?
    (we're going nowhere)

    This is sempiternal
Will we ever see the end?
    This is sempiternal
Over and over, again and again.

Rise from the dead you say?
Secrets don't sleep 'til they're took to the grave
Signal the sirens, rally the troops
    Ladies and gentlemen,
    It's the moment of truth

    [2x]
Can you tell from the look in our eyes?
    (we're going nowhere)
We live our lives like we're ready to die
    (we're going nowhere)
You can run but you'll never escape
    (over and over again)
Will we ever see the end?
    (we're going nowhere)

    This is sempiternal
Will we ever see the end?
    This is sempiternal
Over and over, again and again.
