All this talk about vampires is intriguing, but in all honesty, the song is about a person’s trek through life. Whether it be loss of innocence, choices that change your direction, etc, life strips away things about you as a child as you grow. This the symbolism of her walking through the entire video, stripping her clothes and importantly giving the rosary to the child. Life strips us of the naive leaving behind in most cases something dark and wicked.

My view for this song is that she is talking about she becoming a rock singer and how it is consider a dark thing. She had many opportunities of being like actress but she doesn't identify has that.It's a metaphor dark=rock and light=acting. In the chorus she says that someone very important for her disapproves this choice and she could see in their eyes that. And anything of good she could achieve by being a rock singer would never be good enough to they and all the support (love) that they use to gave her was a lie.
This is my view I don't know if is the right one but this is why their music are so great, it inspire conversations and awareness. It has story behind. -

This is song is about how she is being controlled by the Illuminati people. How she hates being their puppet. How she's tired of going through the same crap and being over sexified for all her life. She feels dreaded being a part of them and regrets losing a childhood that most people consider as the best days of their life... since she's been working from the age of 2.
She points out to "Satan" and says she can do anything to make him happy...

My interpretation of it is reflective of my own situation right now.
She's a virgin and she has ample opportunities to have sex or fun from other guys, but she's in love with this guy and wants him and him only. He doesn't want to ruin her like he does to all these other girls, because he respects her. She can't understand why he won't take her, she'll just never be good enough. And every time she looks at him with other women or having his fun, she just wants to crawl up and die.
She's waiting, even going so far to point out maybe once in a blue moon it will happen. She'd also do all these bad things for him, just to be with him, but yet she doesn't want to move on from him, which is what he wants. -

Basically, she's in love with a vampire. "Everything looks better when the sun goes down", "opportunities for eternity, and I could belong to the night", "everything you love will burn up in the light", "taste me, drink my soul" all these state the song is about loving a vampire, but real vampires do not exist so the song is translated to being, that she is in love with someone she can't have, a forbidden love.

i think its someone she has a crush on for ages.or in love with . but she feels shes not good enough ..she also thinks when she looks into his eyes it makes her wanna die inside ... shes so nervous so she would rather die .. or it could be she litterarly freezes up when she looks into his .. and she gets so uncomfortable
then of course later on in the song she describes how she would do anything for that person , but theres something from stopping her .. ie herself .. low self esteem, or maybe she cant be with him .because they jsut cant be together at that point in time ... -

She states that everything "looks" better when the sun goes down, BUT THEN talks about how everything she loves (which is the dark) is burning in the light. Do you know what the light is? GOD! Things look different under a light huh? Your flaws are exposed, and everything from a single thought in your mind to your actions are CONVICTED in the sight of God who is forever pure and divine. Think about it... when it's that time in our life that we are about to DIE, you may have second thoughts on how you lived your life.. all of those thoughts surface and we are "sorry" for everything we did... sorry doesn't cut it, and we will be judged.. I don't know it could mean a few things, such as how pure God is, compared to us humans who choose to live in sin because it's fun...convenient and pleasurable.. instead of trying to live in the light. 'Everything you love, will burn up in the lie'- two people who aren't socially 'supposed' to be together and their relationship would destroy 'everything they love' for one of them. Its like shes saying that if she takes what she wants, how life is at the moment will be thrown into chaos. Also 'make me wanna die' suggests frustration at not being able to be with someone.
